Our approach of providing free access, offering virtual attendance, and enabling cameras-off anonymity helps to remove barriers to participation. These policies ensure that underrepresented talent can access opportunities and feel supported in exploring careers in our sector. Embracing the YES Program: Transforming Lives and Building Futures At Norton-Lambrianos, we are proud to support the Youth Employment Service (YES) Program, an initiative transforming the lives of South Africa’s youth through work experience, skills development and career-building opportunities. This program has unlocked incredible journeys of growth: “Before joining, I was in my sixth month of unemployment, struggling with interviews. The program opened doors and I joined the legal department, learning the ropes of legal administration. It has been an incredibly educational journey.” Another participant rebuilt after personal loss: “After losing my mom, I was unemployed and directionless. Now, I’m working as an admin assistant and learning so much. I’m excited to keep growing.” A budding entrepreneur shared, “The program boosted my confidence and expanded my business expertise. I want to pursue a career in business management and grow my own business.” Development of Essential Skills: Another participant reflected, "Working with the team has taught me about collaboration and problem-solving under pressure. I’ve learned how to multitask and handle challenges efficiently. The skills I’ve developed here are ones I will carry with me in my future career." From gaining teamwork and problem-solving skills to finding a passion for law, participants have discovered purpose and direction, with many now pursuing further studies and career ambitions. One participant perfectly captured the program’s transformative impact: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now. The YES Program gave me the chance to grow into the junior IT professional I am today. It all started with a simple ‘yes.” At Norton-Lambrianos, we are committed to continuing to foster growth and talent through initiatives like the YES Program. Everyone should feel empowered to progress their careers and be their authentic self regardless of who they are or where they come from. 💪🏼 Whether you identify as socially mobile or as a social mobility ally, we all play a role in levelling the playing field and acknowledging the role of education, mentorship and the importance of working to create an inclusive environment and to support initiatives that help individuals from all backgrounds to succeed. 🚀 This is something which our Social Mobility Network at TLT LLP helps to implement by working with various organisations - over the next few weeks we are partnering with Speakers for Schools to host some virtual work experience aimed at students from harder to reach areas or from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Founded by Deborah Streatfield The Careers Office is on a mission to break down barriers to career success for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, connecting them with meaningful opportunities. We partner with schools, universities, and employers to open doors to careers in law, medicine, finance, media, and technology. Our goal: Equal access to life-changing opportunities for all students, regardless of background. Only 6.1% of students entering top English universities come from low-participation areas. This gap extends into the workforce, where graduates from disadvantaged backgrounds face even greater challenges entering or advancing in top-tier professions. By partnering with The Careers Office, we can help shape a brighter future for talented young people, ensuring every student has the chance to succeed and make an impact in their chosen field.

📢 Introducing the Common Application for First-Year Diversity Fellowship Programs! 📢 The First-Year Diversity Recruiting Task Force has made the recruitment process easier for both students and firms with the launch of a Common Application for First-Year Diversity Fellowship Programs. This fillable PDF is designed to streamline the application process, ensuring a more efficient experience for both students and employers. Employers can download the application to share with students, or students can fill it out and include it with their fellowship applications. Legal employers offering fellowship programs are granted a royalty-free license to distribute the Common Application. In conjunction with this launch, NALP has made fellowship information available directly within the 𝘕𝘈𝘓𝘗 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘭 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘴. 🧑🏫 Kanya Kinga supports the implementation of the #CIVICSCOUTS AT #WORK programme in #Hungary as a facilitator. Our regional partner Emberség Erejével Alapítvány - Power of Humanity Foundation asked her about the challenges faced by companies and how civic education can help address these challenges. Here is how she responded: "The CIVIC SCOUTS programme is the missing link between organisational development (OD) processes and CSR activities [...] The OD process through the development of operational structures and efficiency are understood as separate processes by employees. The CS programme is bridging this gap through awareness-raising, civic-minded attitude development with a community-based, needs-responsive approach based on innovative collaborations.
