MIT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 05.12.2024 with the NIELIT. This partnership aims to promote skilling, research, and innovation in emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Cybersecurity. With this initiative, students of MIT will be benefited from advanced learning in these technologies, aligned with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

I'm sure you've heard of IoT, the Internet of Things. A phrase coined almost 40 years ago to describe all of the interconnected devices that now pervade our lives. In this new paper on the Enterprise Architecture Professional Journal, students from the University of Melbourne discuss the IoMT; the Internet of Medical Things. A subset of the original concept, but increasing in volume and prevalence within out experiences as care-givers and patients. Intriguing, I look forward to tuning in. My perspective: I believe that AI offers remarkable benefits. AI-driven solutions can tackle complex challenges, making our world more efficient, interconnected, and responsive. Nevertheless, the rise of AI also brings significant concerns. Issues such as data privacy, job displacement, and the ethical implications of autonomous systems demand our attention. As AI systems become more integrated into our daily lives, ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness is crucial. The balance, in my view, lies in the thoughtful and ethical integration of technology, ensuring that AI enhances human capabilities without compromising core values or societal well-being. This involves designing AI systems with fairness, transparency, and accountability in mind, prioritizing human needs, implementing robust regulatory frameworks, promoting digital literacy, and encouraging collaboration between technologists, policymakers, and society. By doing so, we can harness the benefits of AI while upholding the values and integrity of humanity.

Cybersecurity Trends for 2025 ♦️ AI and Machine Learning They help detect threats quickly by analyzing large volumes of data in real time. ♦️ Quantum Computing and Post-Quantum Encryption Quantum computers could compromise modern encryption algorithms. Post-quantum encryption will become essential to protect sensitive data in the future. ♦️ Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PET) PETs ensure data protection even during processing and sharing. ♦️ IoT and 5G Security The expansion of IoT and 5G opens new opportunities for attacks. Securing these devices and networks will be critical in 2025.

A new distributed federated intrusion detection method was proposed by a research team led by Wei WANG to address vulnerabilities in IoT network devices. The method utilizes labeled data as prior knowledge to identify new attack types, ensuring training security. A blockchain-based federated learning architecture is used for secure and distributed coordination. Experiments on the AWID dataset show promising results. Future work may focus on developing a more efficient consensus mechanism for real-time IoT requirements.
