Canvas Discussion Enhancements – On July 17, Canvas implemented a variety of changes to the online classroom to improve the user experience. While these changes are primarily to the appearance of the discussion forums, there are some minor changes to the functionality within the forums as well. Atomic Search in Canvas is now making it easier to update your course using find & replace!

"We use Canvas sections to manage our students.. Why can't we do the same everywhere? I don't want to redo all that work!" This was another consistent message we heard from universities when developing Stackle. Teaching teams were already managing their classes using Canvas sections. The logic was clear: 1. Universities invest significant time in Canvas section setup 2. Teaching teams organise their workflows around sections 3. Support staff are trained in section management 4. Grade books are structured by section 5. Timetabling often aligns with section organisation So we made another fundamental decision - instead of building our own group management system, we would integrate deeply with Canvas sections. Why? When a teaching team has already organised their classes in Canvas, that structure should automatically carry through to their learning activities. It's why we smile when educators say "Oh, it just works with my existing sections!" during demos. Sometimes the best innovation is removing complexity rather than adding to it. #CanvasLMS #HigherEd #EdTech

Once the term is over, you might want to clear up your Canvas workspace so that you can focus solely on preparing for the upcoming term. You can do this in 3 simple steps! 1️⃣: Adjust the notifications for your completed courses in Canvas. This will help remove any unwanted alerts that may show up in your workspace. 2️⃣: Review the course or term dates and adjust them, if needed. 3️⃣: You can also “unfavorite” your old course in Canvas so that it is entirely removed from your dashboard.
