My thoughts on Teams. "You mentioned in your article 'in-house' and 'freelance' - staff so I will give me take on that: When I worked as a Fashion Designer, in Sweden, many years ago, I always chose short contacts and / or freelance work. I sold it - 'myself' as they would get me as a trouble shooter solution, and then I would be off, and no hard feelings. I was never a threat to the in-house staff as all knew - I would soon leave. I fully accept that for 'continuity'- a more complete path for the current flow and stream in the business -a linear way - is easier- ie use what you have in-house or employ someone to become an employer or be / Co-Founder, to grow from within the business but for someone like me - that work with 100% intent focus and then 'die' = flat out - after X weeks / months, being employed is hard and it's just not in my nature. Going to 'What are the advantages and disadvantages of having a technical co-founder?' I would just add that it's a hug difference between: Who you want: Co-Founder- new partner and WHO they really are. Before adding any one in, just make sure - your needs and 'wantings' are not dimming your take on WHO they really are." #communication #techinnovation #technicalfounde #neurodiversity #careeropportunities

The team is the most important part of any new startup... But when should you bring people — specifically, technical talent — onboard? Should you bring on a technical co-founder? Should you hire technical talent or outsource? Freelancer or dev shop? 🤷 These are the questions that I discuss often with entrepreneurs focused on building innovation-driven businesses. It applies regardless of whether the founding team has technical talent already. There are a variety of perspectives on the topic and it often comes back to the specific scenario. There are advantages, disadvantages, and realities that entrepreneurs need to consider. These considerations are outlined in my new book, Startup Tactics, and were featured in Inc. Magazine this week! Startups shouldn't hire anyone for a full-time role. Nobody in a startup is a full-time employee. As much as the founders are figuring out their path, employees need to be flexible and adaptable before funds run out. Startups hire freelancers to scale up or down according to demand, enabling them to trim inefficiencies quickly and achieve rapid growth. Hire freelancers from http://jol.works, and pay only after the work is delivered. #startup #entrepreneur #agency #freelancer #jol #jolworks

So, life’s crazy, and now you need developers for your startup? No stress—this can be easier than you think. Here’s where to look, based on what you need: • In-house Developers: Job boards like AngelList, TechCrunch, and LinkedIn are a great start. Also, check GitHub and StackOverflow. • Freelancers: Upwork, TopTal, and Guru are lifesavers if you need flexibility. • Development Companies: For bigger projects, check Clutch.co or ask for local referrals. The key? Focus on what your startup actually needs—don’t overcomplicate. 👉 Want more tips on scaling? Tech startups, especially those involved in service development, often face a lack of financial resources 💸 and resort to working with freelancers. Even large companies use this practice. Freelancers often need access to the startup's source code 🧑💻 to complete their tasks. However, when an investor invests in a startup, the source code becomes the company's primary asset 💻. It turns out that the IT company is granting access to the code to freelancers who may be based in another country, such as Bangladesh 🇧🇩. Despite signed non-disclosure agreements, if data leaks or the code is resold, such situations are difficult to control 🔒 and challenging to resolve through the courts ⚖️. What do companies, freelancers, and investors think about these risks? For an investor, it means that the invested funds are at risk if the company transfers a core asset to a third party 🤔. What are your thoughts on these risks? Share your opinions! 💬
