GW3 NEWSROOM | Cauldron Ferm’s Precision Fermentation Facility in Mackay: A New Era for Biomanufacturing Cauldron Ferm, supported by the Queensland Government’s Industry Partnership Program (IPP), is building a cutting-edge precision fermentation facility in Mackay. This project is set to be the largest end-to-end contract manufacturer of precision fermented bioproducts in the Asia-Pacific region. The Cauldron Bio-Fab is projected to have 1,000 tonnes of bioproducts annually for sectors like food, nutrition, beauty, biofuels, and chemicals. Mackay is an ideal location for the facility, thanks to its skilled workforce, abundant feedstock, and forward-thinking community. The project will help diversify the local economy, creating jobs in advanced manufacturing and biomanufacturing. It also offers young people in the region the opportunity to pursue careers in science and technology.
