This weekend, I spent an hour in the Alabama heat chasing what turned out to be the wrong cat. It was hot. The cat would not come when called. No amount of coaxing or sweet talk or treats fazed her. Accusations were made. “How could you let the cat out?” My cat was inside the entire time, resting comfortably atop a piece of furniture, idly watching me. As we roll into plan preview season and take stock of our 2024 stars performance, it’s important to know what cat to chase. How are your analytics? Are you tracking year over year performance? What does membership engagement look like? Do you have a solid foundation? How connected are you within the organization to one another? Has your network changed over the year? Are you monitoring accessibility? It’s easy to get overwhelmed. Everything is important…but some stuff is more important. At BMF, we treat our clients and employees like friends and family. This got us thinking about friendship from a #marketing perspective: the relationships #consumers have with #brands.
