Last week I gave a talk at ZICER - Zagreb Innovation Centre's Startup Factory about software development. It was exciting to share my knowledge and experience that I've gathered over the 20 years in the industry, both from a software development agency (Intellegens) perspective, as well as from a startup (Peekator) perspective. Three main topics covered were: 1️⃣ Ask a lot of questions. In order to develop a great product or feature, you need to know who it is being built for, what problem it solves, what value it brings, how people have solved that problem in the past etc. 2️⃣ Develop as little as you can get away with to validate your ideas. Usually in a startup world you're looking for a product market fit. Try a clickable demo or a very naked MVP to verify if your ideas align with the market, it's much cheaper than learning that you've missed after you've already built a full solution! 3️⃣ Software development is more than just writing code. It includes: Gathering requirements, Design (UX and UI), Development, Infrastructure, Documentation and Support. Afterwards there was an amazing QAB session in a bar around the corner.
