🌍 This Earth Day, let's explore how investing in women drives a greener, more sustainable future. 🌱 Green Skills for a Green Future Green jobs are growing twice as fast as the number of workers with the skills to fill them. Despite this need, only 55% of businesses have green skills programs among their existing workforce - a critical skills gap that could impede sustainability progress (The Economist). 👩🔬 Women: Key to Bridging the Green Skills Gap Research done by European Investment Fund (EIF) shows that women-led businesses have higher ESG scores than other companies, whereas companies with female leadership representation have better track records in adopting environmentally friendly practices. Similarly, women leaders are more likely to invest in renewable energy, pursue greater energy efficiency and implement sustainable practices. 🌍 Empowering Women, Protecting the Planet The leadership style common among women emphasizes long-term planning, teamwork, and openness. Recognizing women as key players in sustainability—whether as policymakers, educators, or specialists—is crucial for crafting effective global solutions. It's clear: integrating more women in leadership roles is essential for our environmental future (World Economic Forum). Here’s how your company can support women and drive environmental progress: 🚀 Appoint women to leadership roles Enhance decision-making with diverse perspectives that women bring to the table. 💼 Support female entrepreneurs Invest in female-founded and female-led businesses, especially those in the green sector, to enhance innovation and diversity in sustainability solutions. ♻ Integrate green skills Develop programs that equip all employees, especially women, with the necessary skills to thrive in a green economy. 🤝 Foster gender-inclusive policies Implement workplace policies that support the advancement of women. 🔬 Support women in STEM Boost initiatives that encourage women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, fields critical to advancing green technology. Aligned with the United Nations's theme for International Women's Day 2024 'Invest in women: Accelerate progress', we at Femme Lead Podcast are dedicated to advocating for strategic investments in women's leadership and their inclusive participation in the green economy. Invest, empower and innovate with women at the forefront. #FemmeLeadPodcast #EarthDay2024 #InvestInWomen #SustainableBusiness #WomenInLeadership #GreenInnovation

Women in sustainable industry are not just addressing today’s environmental challenges—they are shaping the future of a greener, more inclusive world. Sustainability and commitment to embracing women in the industry are forces that bring positive changes in the present business world. While companies in every corner of the globe work hard to become more environmentally friendly, women are at the forefront of sustainability initiatives, providing new innovative ideas and solutions. The current wave of female leadership in sustainability is inspiring positive change in organizations, industries, and other institutions to embrace new standards of Corporate Social Responsibilities, lower ecological effects of their operations, and new ethics. Studies indicate that diverse boards tend to consider sustainability higher since diverse boards perceive societal responsibility and environmental protection as vital ingredients for organizational sustainability. Thus, women in leadership positions are contributing to the transition of industries to a green future, sustainable energy sources, and reducing waste. Others are still involved in propelling change in areas that they govern in policy-making in addition to initiating projects that may address issues such as carbon foot sacrament, other considerations of diversity, and community elements. But However, it remains a long and hard journey. While gender diversity is still an issue in leadership, women face barriers in getting to executive positions in different sectors and organizations. Through the development of leadership opportunities for women, industries have the potential to improve both gender parity and sustainable economies, to shape the world of tomorrow. Healing the environment and empowering women are two components that, when joined together, can reshape the world economy, prosperity, and diversity. #sustainablemanagement #diversity #womenleadership

🌟 FII in a Flash with Playbook 🌟 In a session titled "The Green Transition: How Can Women Power Sustainable Supply Chains?” at the FII Horizon Summit, we explored how women can lead the charge in the renewable energy transition! 🎉 Featured speakers included Dr. Owen Omogiafo OON and Dr. Angela Wilkinson. With women making up 76% fewer workers in the energy sector compared to men, it's essential to elevate female voices in this critical shift. So, how can women drive sustainable change in our energy systems? 🤔 Here are the highlights of the session: ⭐ Women as Catalysts: Women are increasingly seen as vital to energy development due to their nurturing abilities and focus on sustainability, driving transformative change. ⚖ Equity in Energy Access: Ensuring equitable access to energy is essential for social progress, emphasizing that energy should be accessible regardless of socioeconomic status. 📊 AI in Energy: AI can optimize processes and predict maintenance needs, but its development must be carefully monitored to avoid biases that could limit opportunities for women. 🌿 Regenerative Supply Chains: The future of supply chains must not only minimize emissions but also focus on restoring and regenerating natural ecosystems, aligning with broader sustainability goals. 🚀 Women in Leadership: Women are increasingly stepping into leadership roles in energy, bringing unique perspectives that prioritize collaboration, active listening, and nurturing environments. 💼 Entrepreneurship Opportunities: There is a growing trend of female entrepreneurs in the energy sector, who are breaking barriers and proving that women can lead successful ventures independently. 🔄 System Innovation: It is crucial to address systemic biases in funding and support for female-led initiatives, ensuring a more inclusive approach to energy innovation and transition. ✨ JERA's Managing Executive Officer in charge of Corporate Enterprise Value Creation, Ms. Minako Fujiie, participated in the 26th World Energy Congress held in Rotterdam and joined her fellow panelists on the "Activating Diversity: Women in Energy 360" panel. During the panel discussion, Ms. Fujiie highlighted that, in today's rapidly changing and uncertain world, having a diverse range of options can serve as a hedge against risks, and innovative options will not be available without embedding diversity and inclusivity in our business culture. It's more crucial than ever for teams and individuals to step out of our comfort zone and actively explore new fields and strengthen interactions. We must create our unique path to a more inclusive and innovative future. 💡 To know more about JERA’s D&I initiatives, please visit https://lnkd.in/ehxJdZJg #wec2024 #RedesigningEnergy #JERA #DiversityandInclusion
