As we get closer to the holy month of Ramadan, the issue of which hotel is halal for the guests will be much talked about again. On top of that, we will now start seeing many restaurants and hotels having this ‘no pork’ sign that is raising all sorts of perceptions and different meanings to drum up business for their buka puasa promotions. To me, this is a very simple issue. If you want to cater to the huge Muslim market, please do make the effort to get your restaurant or hotel halal certified. Nothing more confusing to the customers and also your staffs by saying that you are not halal certified BUT all your suppliers are halal......which is misleading because a halal certification encompasses much more than having halal suppliers. And customers must also remember the ‘pork free’ sign does not mean it is halal. So don't be deceived if there are many Muslims eating in that restaurant. And out of the many restaurants and hotels promoting the upcoming buka puasa promotions, not that many of them are actually halal certified.

It is important to involve employees in the evaluation process and encourage them to actively participate. Their feedback is valuable in understanding their needs, challenges and motivations, and adapting our framework accordingly. And, let's not forget that the main purpose of employee performance appraisal is to improve their performance and help them achieve their professional goals. Malaysian Satay. The non-Halal Pork version ... Yummmmm I went to this small humble non Halal pork restaurant iberico kitchen here in Petaling Jaya Malaysia the other day, which was recommended by alburn william and had this beautiful Satay. They were really yummy good. Truly enjoyed it and I was so amazed by the colors. I normally very rarely take photos of food, so I am not a foodie, but for this vibrant colors I really had to take a photo and share this. The colors are so Malaysia, truly Asia. Satay is one of the dishes Malaysia is well known for, besides all the other beautiful food, and Satay will be also served on Malaysia Airlines Business Class as welcome to the country. The fine difference here is that at Malaysia airlines you get Chicken or beef satays, while the one on the picture are pork. The other very Malaysian thing in this non-Halal restaurant, is that you basically every inch of decoration will be "informed" that pork is served here. There are pig pillows, pig paintings on the walls, on the TV screens some Iberico Pigs are running around, .... its just a bit too much. I do not know why we Malaysians are doing this, either because we are so caring about our Malaysian Muslim friend or just because we like pigs. I think its the first one, that we are caring. As a grown society I think the good readable words non-halal should be sufficient, so that everybody can make his/her own decision if they want to eat here or not. Nevertheless the food, I also had some pork ribs, was really good and for sure will be there soon again for my non-halal fix. The restaurant also had some fridges, which unfortunately were not Precision Refrigeration but who knows. Maybe they are doing the switch soon to the best commercial refrigeration equipment on the market. Have you done your switch to Precision Refrigeration already? We are here for you, either its Halal or non-halal :-) #malaysia #satay #keepitcoolwithprecision #precisionrefrigeration #refrigeration #foodserviceindustry #hospitalityindustry #foodservice #cateringequipment #foodserviceequipment #kitchenequipment #commercialkitchen #precisionfridge

In April 2024 - KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd. announced closure of around 100 outlets nationwide amidst on going anti-war protests and increasing costs. While this news may sound dim, the overall QSR market has been increasingly on the uphill since many years. One of our personal favorites A&W (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has been steadfast in its commitment towards growth and has been a regular stop for our fast food cravings since 1963 - being the first QSR brand to open in Malaysia since its independence. In 2023, the retail value of fast food or limited-service restaurants in Malaysia amounted to around 3.16 billion U.S. dollars, and is expected to reach 4.65 billion U.S. dollars by 2027. (Ref: Statista) - while my figures would be off, experts like Anwaar H. R. would shed a better light on it. Who’s craving for a frosty mug of the root beer right now? “Happy Weekend” everyone 🍺
