Access to reliable energy is transformative—it powers modern life, lifts communities out of poverty, and fuels economic progress. Yet, as the world transitions to clean energy, it is crucial to ensure that low-income nations are not left behind. These countries face the dual challenge of meeting urgent humanitarian needs and developing their economies, all while adapting to the realities of climate change. To achieve a truly sustainable future, wealthy nations must step up by mobilizing significant resources to fund clean energy innovations and climate adaptation efforts in emerging economies. Scaling up these investments will not only reduce emissions but also empower millions to access the opportunities that reliable, clean energy provides. 🌍 We are at #COP29: Join us in Baku to drive climate action forward! 🌍 From 11-16 November, our Managing Director Angelika Dr. Hilger and Head of Carbon Strategies and Innovation Jacob Bourgeois will be at COP 29 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The 29th #Conference of the #Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change is a critical global summit that brings together countries, businesses and organisations from around the world to collaborate on #climate #action. This year's focus is on limiting global warming to 1.5°C by scaling up climate finance, reducing fossil fuels, promoting renewable energy and developing equitable strategies to protect vulnerable communities. For us, COP29 is an important platform to #connect with government, technical and development partners, and to deepen or forge new collaborations. It is in line with our mission to advance #net #zero strategies and support innovative #climate #solutions. With our growing climate projects on a global scale, especially those in the early stages of development and as strong player in the voluntary carbon market, we're committed to putting these global frameworks into action. At #COP29, Dr. Sebastian Groh, CEO & Co-Founder of SOLshare, spotlighted a critical imbalance in climate finance. While G20 countries account for 78% of global emissions, developing nations whose future emissions will reach 66% receive just 3% of available climate funding. SOLshare introduced a pioneering solution from Bangladesh: remote-controlled electric taxis that support grid stability, effectively creating a virtual power plant.
