Oral diseases are the most prevalent #NCDs, sharing modifiable risk factors with other NCDs. Furthermore, evidence shows a strong association between oral diseases and other NCDs, especially severe #periodontaldiseases and #diabetes: people living with diabetes have a higher risk of periodontal diseases and clinical intervention for severe periodontal disease can improve diabetes control! This underscores the need for an integrated approach of oral diseases with other NCDs! The outcome of the WHO #GlobalOralHealthMeeting will contribute to the upcoming UN High-level Meeting #UHHLM on NCDs in 2025.
