There is a massive gap between researchers, research papers, and industry. Industry doesn’t care about changing 100 different variables to achieve a 2% reduction in costs etc. because that change will cost them more than to implement it and the lost production time. Researchers need to add a section in their papers explaining the readiness/maturity of the research in the paper to be applied to industry and give examples of how and where it can be applied. Back in the days, there was little knowledge but implementation of it was high. Today, knowledge is abundant, but implementation of it is very little.

Constructing a research instrument is crucial in research as it ensures the accuracy, reliability, and validity of data collection. A well-designed instrument directly influences the quality of the findings, enabling researchers to measure variables precisely, draw meaningful conclusions, and contribute valuable insights to the field. This foundational step is essential for credible research outcomes. #ginrafoundation#ResearchExcellence#NursingExcellence#gloriousprideawards#PhDAchievement

🔬Top Research How does information asymmetry shape firms' R&D disclosure? This study by Stefano Baruffaldi, Markus Simeth, and David Wehrheim explores how reduced analyst coverage influences firms' reliance on scientific publications. Key findings: • Firms with less coverage publish more scientific papers. • The effect is strongest in firms facing high asymmetry or financial constraints. • Scientific publications respond swiftly, unlike R&D and patents. Discover actionable insights for using R&D disclosure to address asymmetry and sustain investor interest. The article, published in Management Science is accessible here: https://lnkd.in/d73s7Xu2

PhD, PFHEA | President of ICDE | Executive Director Learning Design & Development at Open Polytechnic of New Zealand
Delphi study: Contemporary issues in digital assessment A Delphi technique-based research study is investigating what experts consider as contemporary issues in digital assessment. The project will involve three phases, each further identifying the main themes of research priority in digital assessment. You are invited to take part in this research if you meet these criteria: * an assessment decision-maker at the organisational level, * a published researcher with peer-reviewed journal outputs on an assessment-related theme published in the previous five years, or * an active PhD researcher in the field of assessment. The first phase will capture key themes in digital assessment across the categories of Compliance, Innovation, Practices, and Technology. The second and third phases will refine these themes into a ranked series of priorities. For more information and to participate see: https://lnkd.in/gH6DD6fa Please kindly make your first phase contribution before Friday 19 April 2024.
