Sandvik books in major order from Evolution Mining for Australian mines Sandvik has received a major underground mining equipment order from Australian-based Evolution Mining. The order was booked in the second quarter and valued at approximately SEK 300 million. Deliveries are scheduled through Q2 2025. The order includes Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions’ advanced #underground #loaders (#LHDs), #trucks and development #drills, to be implemented in different mines in Australia. “We are very pleased that we continue to be a trusted partner to Evolution Mining and that we strengthen our partnership further as they renew big part of their fleet,” says Mats Eriksson, President of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions. Evolution’s principal underground operations in Australia are the recently acquired #Northparkes (80%) #copper-#gold mine in NSW, the #ErnestHenry (100%) copper-gold mine in #Queensland, and the #Mungari (100%) gold mine in #WesternAustralia. Sandvik will deliver #Toro™ #TH663i trucks and Toro™ #LH621i loaders to optimise operational efficiency and support ongoing mine development initiatives at Ernest Henry. Mungari Operations will receive Toro™ TH663i and Toro™ TH551i trucks, Toro™ #LH517i loaders and two Sandvik #DD422i development drills. Evolution is also integrating a Toro™ #LH514 loader into the Northparkes fleet. MINING A RICH SEAM 🪨👷🇸🇪: Healthy mining industry business was key to Epiroc increasing its revenues and orders in Q3 2024. The Sweden-headquartered global market manufacturer of drill rigs and hydraulic breakers for the quarrying, mining and construction industries posted an 8% rise in orders to SEK 15,520mn (SEK 14,360mn in Q3 2023). The demand from mining customers was particularly strong, with several large mining equipment orders won. Large orders were a record quarter high at SEK 1,400mn (SEK 1,000mn), contributing to an organic order growth for equipment of 11%. For construction, as anticipated, demand remained weak, especially for attachments, where orders slowed further in the United States. In the near term, Epiroc expects that the underlying mining demand, both for equipment and the aftermarket, will remain high, while demand from construction customers is expected to remain weak. Epiroc third-quarter revenues increased 5% to SEK 15.7 billion, driven by organic growth in Equipment & Service and by acquisitions in Tools & Attachments. The company's EBIT increased slightly to SEK 3,277mn (SEK 3,260mn) and included items affecting comparability of SEK 191mn (-12). 🇵🇬 Ok Tedi Mining Limited launches the first and largest front wheel loader, a Cat® 995 Large Wheel Loader (LWL), in Papua New Guinea and the second in the Pacific recently in Tabubil. The Cat 995 LWL was purchased earlier this year from Hastings Deering, the Caterpillar equipment dealer, to increase production capacity and meet the growing demands of the industry market. OTML Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kedi Ilimbit said that the purchase of the latest edition of the front wheel loader will add to the company's fleet of mining equipment, which already includes a wide range of cutting-edge machinery. "The Cat 995 is up to 23% more productive than the Cat 994 Wheel Loader, while the company has been using the smaller Cat 993 loader for almost 4 decades. Cat 995 has a more powerful engine, higher-rated payload, and efficient hydraulic system that allows for fast cycle times and higher production which is efficient for our operations," said Ilimbit. Hastings Deering Resource Industries Account Manager Todd Wallace acknowledged the existing partnership between the two companies. "We are excited to deliver the first Cat 995 LWL into PNG and the second Cat 995 LWL into the Hastings Deering territory. Ok Tedi has the second of the first 3 Cat 995 LWL models built worldwide," said Wallace.
