Through our climate-smart advisory services, we provide smallholders with regular training and crucial guidance on sustainable practices, climate-resilient seeds, and optimised soil health management. Alongside solar-powered irrigation, these solutions empower farmers to improve crop yields, diversify their produce, and thrive despite the uncertainties of a changing climate. Our work is challenging the systemic inequities that leave small farmers vulnerable to environmental shocks. By equipping these farmers with affordable services and scientific knowledge, we’re fostering independence and resilience, paving the way for food systems that are not only sustainable but accessible and fair. On the sidelines of #OPECFundDevForum, #AGFUND Executive Director Dr. Nasser Alkahtani met with UNIDO Managing Director Mr. Gunther Beger to discuss potential collaboration on vital issues of food security, sustainable agriculture, and clean cooking solutions in the world's least developed countries. Last week, the work of the Strategic Dialogue on the future of EU agriculture culminated with the publication of the report “A shared prospect for farming and food in Europe”, handed over to European Commission President von der Leyen by Professor Strohschneider.   This report will feed into the Vision for Agriculture and Food, to be delivered in the first 100 days of President von der Leyen’s second mandate. I am pleased to see a truly systemic approach being at the center of the proposed solutions, calling for trust, and cooperation between all stakeholders of the agri-food value chain and for partnerships between public and private. This absolutely resonates with our #Food2030EU framework for sustainable food systems within #HorizonEU.
