This session will explore the steps that should be taken to minimize the risk associated with a demand for a recovery schedule, how a contractor should respond to such a demand, how to approach acceleration and schedule development, what to include (and not include) in a recovery schedule, and who pays for the acceleration costs to meet a recovery schedule. #aacenesymposium2024 #construction

NEWS! SOPROEN, in consortium with APCA NEOPLAN from Ecuador, has been notified as the winners of the contract award titled: Technical Assistance for the Preparation of the National Plan for the Comprehensive Protection of the Rights of the Elderly, with funding from the World Bank. The consultancy involves providing specialized technical assistance to develop a diagnostic assessment of the current state of compliance with the general and specific rights of the elderly population. Additionally, the consultancy will support the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion in setting national targets and identifying indicators to address the issues identified in the diagnostic phase. The technical assistance is geared towards creating comprehensive sectoral and territorial planning guidelines, along with a management model that encompasses both central and territorial coordination strategies to ensure the effective implementation of the National Plan. Moreover, the consultancy will recommend mechanisms for monitoring, follow-up, and evaluation, allowing the overseeing entity to track and assess the implementation of policies ensuring the rights of the elderly. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure robust compliance and continuous improvement in the protection of the elderly population's rights.

Climate change was high priority for government external auditors in WGEA global survey in 2021. Tentative results of the 2024 survey indicate that this interest keeps on growing. But what does the INTOSAI WGEA audit database say about the global status of SAIs' audits on climate change? 🌏 Since 2020, around quarter of the environmental audits in the database deal with climate change. 🌍 Only few SAIs make a link to the SDGs in their climate audit reports or summaries. 🌎 Thus far, there are more audits on mitigation compared to adaptation. 🌍 Thus far, more climate audits have been made in Global North compared to Global South. #ClimateScanner developed by Tribunal de Contas da União and Cooperative Audit on Climate Change Adaptation Actions coordinated by INTOSAI DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE (IDI) have a potential to increase the number of audits especially in Global South and on climate change adaptation.
