In early January, my mind turns to seals... Not just when I look in the mirror, but also from memories of visiting the seal sanctuary on Donna Nook beach: https://lnkd.in/e-ejQd7K Today is my first day back at work and I’m thinking about a different kind of seal: Balluff GigE and 10 GigE cameras have IP67 sealing. Of course we think about this for wet environments (Lincolnshire beaches are certainly wet) but recently it came up for something else: conductive powder in the environment. IP67 is more protection than you need for powder but the potential for electrical problems means it is worth being careful.
