🙋♀️ Engaging the young generation in environmental issues is crucial for building a sustainable future. Young people bring fresh perspectives, passion, and innovative solutions regarding critical challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental pollution. By equipping them with the right tools and knowledge, we empower them to turn their ideas into action, strengthen environmental movements and cultivate eco-conscious values for future generations. 🙋♂️Therefore, we, the Interreg Euro MED Natural Heritage Mission, are organizing info days in high schools, youth organizations and Universities to promote youth engagement and amplify their role as “managers” of the planet. These events aim to create the circumstances for young people to understand the importance of finding and implementing long-term resilient solutions that balance human needs with ecological integrity. Their involvement is vital in ensuring that policies and actions reflect both present and future generations' needs. In that respect, we, also, support initiatives such as European Forest Institute’s Young Leadership Programme – Mediterranean (YLPMED) which is taking place in Croatia from 5th to 9th May 2025 and supported by the Union for the Mediterranean. ℹ More information on this program can be found on the respective Save the Date and Applications pages. 👉 Save the Date Link: https://lnkd.in/dHchTQrV 👉 Applications: https://lnkd.in/dnxdPy9B Interreg Euro-MED Programme #SustainableFuturere #youthempowerment #climatechange #ZeroPollution #EcoEmotions #climateaction #FutureOfWork #SocialEntrepreneurship

The ocean isn't just where life began—it's our key to a fair and sustainable future. 🌊 As we enter the fourth year of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030), we've seen incredible momentum. Thousands of partners worldwide are uniting under UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission to deliver the science necessary for the ocean we dream of. Now, it's time to reflect and plan ahead. What have we achieved so far? Where should our focus lie in the next few years? Excitingly, the 2024 UN Ocean Decade Conference in Barcelona from April 10-12 will be the hub for this discussion. Hosted by the Government of Spain, this event will gather the global Ocean Decade community to celebrate progress and set new goals for a sustainable future. 🎉 From tackling climate change to ensuring food security, this conference will cover it all. Together, we'll pave the way for science-based innovation and inclusive ocean management. 🪸 But we can't do it alone. Partnerships are key. Let's work together, from local to global levels, to safeguard our ocean for generations to come. 💙 See event informations here: https://lnkd.in/e4855HNR #OceanDecade #SustainableFuture #Conference

The flagship event of the macro-alpine strategy combines the General assembly and the Annual forum, bringing together politicians and stakeholders from the seven involved countries. This gathering addresses key issues such as balancing economic growth with nature conservation, embracing sustainable innovations, and reducing regional disparities. 🌍 The Alpine Macro-Region: Balancing Prosperity and Sustainability The Alpine macro-region, known as Europe’s “water tower” and a biodiversity haven, exemplifies prosperity. Nearly a decade after EUSALP’s creation, it continues to lead in green and digital transitions. Join the panel to explore EUSALP’s role in fostering a competitive, circular, and smart Alpine region. 🌿💡 #AlpineRegion #Sustainability #EUSALP #GreenTransition #Innovation #EconomicGrowth #Biodiversity #CircularEconomy 🌍 Climate-Resilient Water Management in the Alpine Region The Alpine Region faces severe climate change impacts, with extreme weather events like floods, erosion, landslides, and droughts threatening livelihoods. This urgency was highlighted in #Slovenia in 2023, where devastating floods sparked a public debate on rethinking water management. 🌲 Exciting News Alert! 🌲 📌Introducing 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙀𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚 (𝙄𝙉𝙏𝙀𝙍𝘾𝙀𝘿𝙀) - a groundbreaking European project aimed at boosting the value of our forests and securing future forest ecosystem services and incomes. 🌳 📌In March 2024, the project kick-started with a dynamic meeting hosted at the University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet), bringing together over 30 representatives from 13 European partners, including universities, companies, and NGOs. 🚀 📌INTERCEDE's mission? To revolutionise the way we perceive and utilize our forests by identifying and enhancing market-based instruments (MBIs), crafting policy guidelines, and bridging the gap between research, policy, and practice. 📈 📌Key concepts of the project are related to Forest Ecosystem Services - think carbon sequestration, water regulation, and all cultural services, including recreational ones, linked to forest ecosystems.. By harnessing MBIs, the project aims to incentivize forest owners to meet society's growing demand for these services. 💧🍃 📌But that's not all! INTERCEDE will also pioneer future scenarios to predict demand and supply for these services, providing an analysis of how MBIs can effectively align the two. Plus, with an innovative Accelerator Service, we'll develop cutting-edge market tools to boost forest ecosystem services provision. 💼✨ 📌Here at the 𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗔𝗙 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, we're diving deep into analysing investments from Rural Development Programs (RDPs), including Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES). Our goal? Crafting policies backed by effective, adaptable and scalable MBIs. 🌳💼 📌Stay tuned as INTERCEDE leads the way towards a greener, more prosperous future for European forests! 🌍🌿 #unipd #tesaf #Intercede #horizon #EU #forestecosystems Etifor | Valuing Nature @kuleuven @LandLife @efi @prospexinstitutevzw @eberswaldeuniversity @stefancelmareuniversityofsuceava WWF Bulgaria @Elo Secretariat @forestandnatureconservationgroup CTFC
