Hospitals on FHIR #Days have come to a close, and what an incredible success it was! This amazing event brought together over 80 participants from 10+ European countries, sharing innovative ideas and projects to advance FHIR adoption in hospitals across the continent. We were especially proud to welcome our clients from IPC, GHT Mayenne with Vincent Errera, and the Hospital of Toulouse with Paul Ortega, who showcased their impactful projects and demonstrated how FHIR is already transforming their operations. Our colleagues Guillaume Rongier and Florence Cureau presented our solutions alongside these hospitals, illustrating the real-world benefits of #FHIR adoption. The event created an incredible platform for exchange, fostering valuable discussions on how to industrialize and structure FHIR usage in the future. 🚀 With this dynamic Hospitals on FHIR group, the brilliant minds involved, and the high-quality exchanges during the event, we are confident these efforts will lead to impactful results for healthcare across Europe. For us at InterSystems this was also a fantastic opportunity to coordinate our efforts on a European scale, bringing together colleagues from Belgium, France, and Germany to strengthen our collective approach. Kudos to Adeline Icard, Nicolas Eiferman, Laurent PARZY, Andries Demont, Jelle Michiels, Julian Grundt & Geoffroy Vitoux for their help and presence during these 2 days. Thank you to all the participants and organizers for making this event such a success.🌍 Congratulations to the organizers Luc Chatty, @Catherine Stefano Dalmiani, Marie-Alexandra LAMBOT, Karlien Erauw, Catherine E Chronaki, FHL7, FIAHSI, Giorgio Cangioli and Eugenia Rinaldi Let’s keep the momentum going! #HealthTech #Interoperability #HospitalsOnFHIR

NHS ConfedExpo 2024: What are the key talking points likely to be? NHS ConfedExpo 2024 is set to be one of the largest and most significant health and care conferences in the UK, attracting over 5,400 delegates across two days. The event, which NHS Confederation and NHS England deliver in partnership, will once again bring together health and care leaders and their teams. You’ll have the opportunity to network with leaders and managers with the ability to lead and drive change in health and social care, as well as attend a plethora of theatre sessions and learning theatres. Potential Key Talking Points: > The ongoing impact of COVID-19: The NHS is still recovering from the pandemic, so discussions will likely focus on long-term effects, managing backlogs, and potential future preparedness. > Workforce shortages and wellbeing: Staff shortages and burnout are major challenges, so discussions will likely address recruitment, retention, and improving working conditions. > Integration and digital transformation: The NHS is constantly evolving, so talks might explore better integrating care services and utilising digital technologies for efficiency and improvement. > Funding and resource allocation: Funding is a perennial concern, so discussions will likely address optimising resource allocation and potentially securing additional funding. > Public health challenges: The NHS addresses various public health issues, so talks might cover obesity, mental health, preventative measures, and health inequalities. > Focus on sharing best practices: The Expo's Learning Theatre sessions are designed to showcase successful improvement efforts in different areas of the NHS, so these discussions will likely be centred around practical solutions and implementation strategies. > Emerging technologies: The Expo might explore the potential of new technologies like AI, telehealth, and data analysis in improving NHS services. > Collaboration and partnership: The NHS relies heavily on collaboration across various sectors, so discussions might emphasise building stronger partnerships between healthcare providers, policymakers, and other stakeholders. The #HealthChallengesCongress organized by #RynekZdrowia took place in Katowice. One of the most important healthcare conferences was a place for discussion about the challenges, which included the development of medical technologies and equipment supporting the work of specialists. The event was attended by key decision-makers (including the Minister of Health Ms Izabela Leszczyna) and representatives of the healthcare sector, including #FamedŻywiec. In our opinion, the challenge we constantly face is the issue of providing more specialized ICU and electric beds in hospitals. For example, Poland recently had 6.9 intensive care beds per 100,000 people. inhabitants, while, for example, in the Czech Republic or France it is 11.6, and in Germany, it is 38.7. This topic has appeared in public discussion but has not yet been implemented. We believe the funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan will allow us to implement the changes announced in the Hospital Modernization Fund. Modern equipment is important for more efficient functioning of the entire system. See the video summary of the event by RynekZdrowia.pl

Newsweek has ranked the top 10 "best" general hospitals in the world. They considered 2,400 hospitals in 30 hospitals. 1. Mayo Clinic - USA 2. Cleveland Clinic - USA 3. Toronto General Hospital - Canada 4. The Johns Hopkins Hospital - USA 5. Massachusetts General Hospital - USA 6. Charité–Universitätsmedizin - Germany 7. Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset - Sweden 8. AP-HP - Hôpital Universitaire Pitié Salpêtrière Paris - France 9. Sheba Medical Center - Israel 10. Universitätsspital Zürich - Switzerland These rankings are a bit silly. And I'm probably just ignorant, but it's interesting to see the large presence of non-American hospital brands. 6 of the top 10 are non-US based. What do you think of these top 10?
