Dear Upwork I've been reflecting on a common challenge many freelancers face on Upwork: clients not hiring despite posting jobs for extended periods. It's a scenario many of us have encountered, where we put in time and effort into crafting proposals, only to see the job listings remain active without any hires. 1) I'm curious to hear your thoughts and experiences on this matter: What factors do you think contribute to clients not hiring freelancers even after posting jobs for 1-2 months? 2) Have you encountered situations where clients seem to stall the hiring process, and if so, what do you believe might be the reasons behind it? 3) How can freelancers better understand and navigate these situations to improve their chances of securing projects? 4) Are there any strategies or best practices you've found effective in encouraging clients to move forward with the hiring process? Your insights and perspectives could provide valuable guidance for freelancers navigating the Upwork platform. Let's engage in a meaningful discussion to uncover potential reasons behind this phenomenon and explore strategies for overcoming it. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! #Freelancing #Upwork #ClientHiring #JobSearch #FreelanceCommunity

Here are some important factors to check before applying for any job on Upwork especially if you're a newbie. If you have some experience on the platform, you might find some of these less critical: 1. Client's rating must be 4.5+ with a minimum of 10 jobs completed. 2. Hire rate shouldn't be less than 70%, particularly crucial for new freelancers. 3. Client should have spent at least $500 or $1,000. 4. Average hourly rate should be at least $5, indicating the client's willingness to pay fairly. Feel free to add more points based on your own experiences. Good luck! #Upwork #Freelancing

🚨 Attention Upwork Community 🚨 It's time we address a critical issue affecting many of us freelancers on the platform: clients who post multiple jobs but never hire anyone. As freelancers, we invest valuable time and resources, including precious connects, to apply for these jobs, only to be left hanging without any response or outcome. This not only wastes our efforts but also creates a frustrating experience for those genuinely seeking work. I urge Upwork to take action against such users by implementing stricter policies or even banning those who repeatedly post jobs without any intention of hiring. Let's create a more efficient and fair environment for everyone on the platform. Your thoughts and support on this matter are highly appreciated. Together, we can push for a positive change! 💪 #Upwork #Freelancers #FreelanceCommunity #ClientResponsibility #UpworkImprovement

Grasping at straws to find talent? Embrace the fundamental shift in how work is getting done through digital nomads and freelancers. You can find them quickly and hire them today on 800 open platforms like Upwork or the biggest talent pool of all, LinkedIn. Even I'm hiring talent on LinkedIn and thrilled with the branding results I received from Subtain Mehmood and the YouTube channel growth received from MD ASHIKUR RAHMAN. Get talent. Get work done. Save money. Bypass HR bureaucracy and make the shift to hiring great talent for less in 2024. #freelance #outsourcedmarketing #fractional

What’s the best platform for hiring freelancers for smaller job roles (e.g. research tasks, minor tech jobs, etc.)? 👩💻 We’ve had a good experience using UpWork - but wondered if anyone in my network had any top tips for working with freelancers. #freelancer #contractor #parttime #temporary

Hello Upwork, I applied several jobs for the last 1 month. Unfortunately, i didn't receive a single message from a client. However, this is not the issue. My frustration is, I looked at the hire rate% before applying and applied to the jobs which has at east 80% hire rate. I applied 6 jobs where clients have 100% hire rate, but they didn't hire a contractor till date. I know you will forward this message to your customer support like every time you do. Tell me this & that. We are applying spending valuable time, money and effort. But clients are not hiring anyone. Thus, our connects and money are getting wasted. Upwork is getting more client-centric than giving value to the freelancers.
