You’ve been writing your CV's wrong all this time! (Here’s 3 simple tricks to fix) ⬇️ 1. Remove the short stints 2. Remove the spammy paragraphs 3. Remove the irrelevant roles you worked during education I’m not saying lie about your experience. I’m saying remove the irrelevant info (at this point). Why? Because it's not going to help you get an interview. CV’s are a tool used to sell your expertise. This tool is meant to get you interviews… So, why create a tool with chinks in its armour? If you have short stints then... Highlight this once you actually get the interview… Not before! Also - you should only have roles on your CV during your Education period, if: → you worked in these roles for a long period of time → you had relevant experience in these roles → you developed relevant skills or traits Remember, keep your CV concise and keep it relevant.

First impressions matter, especially in your job search! Did you know recruiters typically spend just seconds scanning each resume? That's why a clean, well-formatted resume is key to grabbing their attention and landing that interview. Here are some tips for Career Coaches to share with clients, and for Job Seekers to implement. 𝟏. 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: Choose a professional, easy-to-read layout with consistent fonts and borders. This ensures both human reviewers and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) can easily navigate and interpret your information. 𝟐. 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥: (𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦) Don't send a generic resume! Analyse the job description and tailor your resume to highlight the skills and experiences most relevant to that specific role. This ensures you have absolutely maximised your chances of landing each interview. Do you take the time to tailor your resume for each job application? #ResumeTips #CareerCoaching #JobSearchHelp

Your CV will NEVER get an INTERVIEW. Here is WHY and HOW to fix it. I've reviewed 300+ CVs from international students in the past 6 months. Here are the MOST common mistakes and how to FIX them: 1️⃣ Your CV is NOT 1-page → If you have LESS than 3 years of work experience, your CV should NOT be longer than 1 page. → Cut it down by having 3 bullet points per experience, with each bullet point being 1 line. 2️⃣ You’re using USELESS adjectives → Cut the fluff like "exceptional," "excellent," and "successful." Get to the point FAST. → Instead of “successfully launched,” say “launched.” 3️⃣ The formatting is INCONSISTENT → Use Google Docs to format your CV (use our fixed template). 4️⃣ No use of numbers on CV → Use numbers to show what you managed and achieved. → For example: "Launched a community for students to get a job," "increased engagement by 150%," "made $12k profit." 5️⃣ The bullet points are too long (3-4 lines) → Keep bullet points to 1 line by following these formats: 🥇 What you did ——-> What you achieved (quantified). E.g., “Generated leads through organic contents. This grew revenue by 3000%." 🥈 What you achieved (quantified) ——-> What you did. E.g., “Reduced delivery costs by 45% by optimizing the delivery driver selection process.” PM: Comment "CV Template" to get the exact one my students use to land consistent weekly interviews.

Difference Between an Average vs Exceptional Resume/CV! A CV is not a documentation of your entire career, whose goal is to be as comprehensive as possible. Instead, your CV is ultimately a sales copy or an advertisement whose purpose is to capture the employer’s attention and lead to your first interview. What this implies is that your resume should comprise the most impactful and attention-capturing details. It could be your greatest achievements, unique accomplishments, amazing stats, or other directly pertinent experiences. These are the key details that should always be emphasized and highlighted. However, when we include irrelevant or less important information in our CV, we end up diluting the main message we want to convey. The more unnecessary content you include, the less attention your key qualifications will receive. This is the reason why determining what details to leave out of your resume is just as important as deciding what you will write. It is usually the main difference between a decent, OK resume and an exceptional one that consistently produces more responses and first-round interviews. It’s worth practicing identifying and removing good but non-crucial information from your CV. >> FOLLOW for more job search tips & strategies! #career #jobsearchtips #jobsearching #jobsearchstrategies #careercoach #careercoaching #jobsearch #jobseeker #jobseekers #resumetips #resume #resumewriting #resumehelp #resumereview #cvwriting #cv #cvtips #cvhelp
