China is a pretty polarizing market these days. Since Covid, 90% of CEOs/CROs I meet from VC- backed/SMEs tell me "we'll never sell in China, period" citing concerns like IP risks, pricing pressure and opaque regulations. Despite the challenges, this always surprises me knowing that Chinese companies continue to license/purchase ‘best in class’ technologies from F2000 companies from all over the globe. Plus China continues to lead the world in granted patents! And China presents immense opportunities for all sorts of businesses. It is the world's largest market for just about every major technology/industry/services category out there. Furthermore, Chinese companies are globalizing at a rapid clip. It already happened with solar and wind. Chinese cars are coming to a dealer near you, and I bet you'll like them more than you think! For those who are serious about ‘dipping a toe’ in China, we can help. And at a minimum, at least you’ll be able to tell your Board that you gave it an honest shot for a few months!

We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to be involved in the recent Roundtable with the Chinese Ambassador organised by John McLean OBE, Chairman of China UK Business Development Centre and the Institute of Directors (IoD). During the two-hour session, HE Ambassador Zheng shared insights on the five major opportunities and three challenges China is seeing. Attendees engaged in an open dialogue with HE Ambassador Zheng and Minister Counsellor Bao Ling, discussing their concerns and aspirations about expanding into China. As a Chinese national living and working in the UK for more than two decades, our partner Isabel Li spoke passionately about seeing is believing. China is a massive market with tremendous demand and opportunities. Go and see what it’s like from your own eyes and feel the warmth, sincerety and enthusiasm from businesses and people there, you will arrive at your very own conclusion on why China for expansion. The upcoming China International Supply Chain Expo(CISCE), China International Import Expo and other major exhibitions later this year will provide valuable opportunities for businesses to gain deeper insights into the Chinese market, build meaningful connections, and explore potential partnerships. Why We Opened Asia Agent Pte Ltd ? Part one My name is Eldad Shashua And I'm the founder of Asia Agent Pte Ltd. After 15 years on the ground in China, managing supply chains for some of the world's most renowned brands, I have witnessed firsthand the tumultuous changes that have swept through the manufacturing landscape. If you knew what I know, you'd be just as concerned. Today, I am compelled to share these insights, not to frighten but to prepare you for the inevitable shifts that lie ahead. We are on the cusp of a manufacturing metamorphosis that could drastically affect your bottom line if proactive measures are not taken. Year after year, the cost of manufacturing in China has been on a relentless upward trajectory. This is not just about inflation or the natural progression of an economy; it's about a profound transformation in the country's economic structure and societal expectations. Simply Put China is no longer a 3rd world country ! China is no longer the low-cost manufacturing hub of the past. Workers and business leaders alike are aspiring to Western-level salaries and lifestyles, mirroring the ambitions of developed nations.
