This week is #StressAwarenessWeek, and because of the way society is structured and the pressure to fit in with 'the norm', being neurodivergent is stressful in itself. We put so much pressure on ourselves to fit in, to mask who we are and how we feel, and to perform to the highest standard so that we are not rejected... and that is stressful. What we sometimes don't realise, is that when our children are having meltdowns at home it is because of the stress caused by their own need to fit in at school. I'm running a webinar next week for parents of children who may be neurodivergent. If your child is often overwhelmed and anxious, join me on Thursday 14th November at 12pm and I will help you figure out if that could be caused by ADHD and/or autism... and how you can help. The booking is https://lnkd.in/eRHMjg_h 💜 #adhdawareness #autismawareness #neurodivergentparenting #NeurodivergentCoach #parentingsupport #stressawareness

Today I'm sharing a brief overview of the four sensation patterns I learned from Jessie Ginsburg, SLP. When we understand our autistic and ADHD students' sensation patterns, we can help them regulate (manage and control their responses to sensory stimuli). The four patterns are: 1. Avoider 2. Sensor 3. Seeker 4. Bystander Let me know what your key takeaway is. Let's keep the conversation going in the comments below. #autismacceptance #adhdawareness #musicteachers
