Politics and funding. These are the two main topics that everyone seems to focus on when it comes to solving climate change and hitting our 80% clean energy goal by 20-30 in America. But rarely do people talk about the number one most important topic in my biased opinion, which is the transition of talent and people into the sector. Here's the reality. America currently has four million clean energy jobs and our renewable energy capacity is around 400 gigawatts. We're going to need to shift that to over 900 gigawatts by 20-30 if we're going to realistically hit this goal. So what does this mean? We need to be adding 2 million new jobs to the US economy in clean energy every single year for the next decade. So what needs to happen in order for that transition to become a reality? 2 main things that you can do as an employer. The first thing is taking a risk on slightly more junior candidates who are taking that next step up in their career. The reason for that is to put people in their most productive environment and therefore distribute the amount of talent from people backfilling underneath them. The second thing that you can do, and this is probably the most impactful, is hiring people without a clean energy background. By doing this, you very simply grow the clean energy. Economy by one job. For me to actually put my money where my mouth is as well. This month we're rolling out an incentive with our consultants where for every person that we place in a non clean energy sector job into solar, wind or storage, I'm offering a consultant $1000 Commission bonus for each placement that they do.
