Next week we celebrate the European #MobilityWeek, and the changes we’ve seen in recent years in terms of innovation are impressive 🚲 🛴 🚌. During this time, we’ve witnessed how the use of technology is making cities more efficient in managing traffic and transportation. The rise of mobility apps that combine public transport routes, bike-sharing, and scooter-sharing on a single platform has entered our lives to make moving around the city easier. They allow us to navigate the city quickly and sustainably, without relying on a private vehicle. But one of the most exciting things we’re seeing is how cities are starting to plan with both the environmental and social impacts of transportation in mind. Areas are being designed where cars aren’t necessary, where short distances are prioritized and where it’s easier to walk or cycle than to hop in a car. These changes will allow us to live in more liveable and people friendly cities. #Mobility #Sustainability

Cities are often the silent architects of micromobility failure 🚳👀 A bold statement… But all too often this is the reality. Operators of both public and private systems, advocacy & expert groups and even cities themselves will admit it behind closed doors but in public the finger pointing continues 👉🏻👈🏻 Now this isn’t to say that there aren’t some fantastic examples of innovation in regulation, governance and business models. Undoubtedly there has been significant improvements over the last 1-3 years, especially in the scooter space 🛴 Yet we know need to consolidate the learnings of the past across all #sharedmobility modes to align on what works and what doesn’t to ensure the longevity of industry players and prevent another bubble bursting 🫧 What’s your thoughts on how we change this way of thinking? https://lnkd.in/emH8yeGn

Exciting times at @MOVE London 2024! 🇬🇧🚗 The atmosphere here is electric, with a level of #innovation and collaboration happening in the #ElectricVehicles ecosystem that we were only talking about a few years ago. I will have the pleasure of delivering a keynote address at the MOVE tomorrow, where I’ll be exploring the great automotive value shift and why it’s crucial for those in the EV industry to rethink and reframe their strategies. This shift is not just about adopting new #technology; it’s about fundamentally transforming our approach to #sustainability, efficiency, and value creation. The automotive industry is at a critical point, where the adoption of these changes can lead to significant advances in the way we design, manufacture, and use EVs. If you’re attending MOVE tomorrow, it would be great to see you at one of our sessions on Mobility Finance in Theatre 5, or at the EY stand at V4 to meet our team and explore our collaboration with Extreme E. #MOVE2024 #EYatMOVE #BetterWorkingWorld #MobilityFinance #Sustainability #futureofmobility Bryan Chance Jan F. Flying cars are not the answer when so many people lack basic access to transportation, inDrive President and Deputy CEO Mark Loughran told an audience of industry insiders at MOVE: Mobility Re-imagined, the world's top mobility conference taking place in London this week. ``Solving the more pressing problems at hand is what’s important,’’ Loughran said. Accessibility of mobility and related services for all people, no matter where they live should be the first and foremost focus for the industry because ``having access to affordable transportation means having access to jobs, being able to see loved ones and have a fuller life.’’ - https://lnkd.in/e6YAaj6H Follow Citybiz on LinkedIn - https://lnkd.in/gStBXi2X #citybiz #citybiznews #MOVE2024 #Mobility #Ridesharing #Tech #CSR #conference #transportation #transportationplatform

The convergence of global trends has been reshaping mobility systems over recent decades, leading to the development of new mobility solutions and business models. Today’s mobility landscape is marked by an increasing availability of new mobility solutions, propelled by strong drivers on both the supply and demand sides. Yet, when it comes to adoption, progress has been considerably slower than anticipated a decade ago. The modal shift away from private cars has been minimal, leaving us far from achieving the transformative changes envisioned for virtuous mobility systems. Explore more insights in the 5th edition of Arthur D. Little's ‘Future of Mobility’ study. In collaboration with the POLIS Network, we delve into strategies to double the global share of sustainable mobility over the next decade. Great article by Dr. Regina Lee Clewlow for Forbes Highlighting the origins of micromobility as well as the need for incentivization within the current day. It will be crucial in the upcoming years to incorporate micromobility as an option via public transit systems & for partnerships to exist between the two industries. This will further incentivize subscription-based models and work to resolve the divide in transportation. As the #micromobility lifecycle is constantly evolving, some key themes remain: - #Innovation - #Incentivization - Quick #GTM / #TTM - #Regulation - #Retention
Coming Full Circle: Managing Micromobility As Transit
