Plans for a flying car are becoming real… 🚗🪽 A flying car startup has received authorisation from the US Federal Aviation Administration and has collected almost 3'000 orders. The big difference with other projects: its prototype resembles an actual car, with a mesh shell housing eight rotors on the inside. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄❓ 1. The electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles market is expected to reach USD 22.7 bn by 2030 (Source: SNS insider). 2. US regulators have ok’ed the development with FAA granting a special airworthiness certificate for limited purposes e.g. exhibition, R&D. 3. Technology enthusiasts like Venture capitalist Tim Draper, an early Tesla and SpaceX investor, are backing the startup. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸⚙️ - On the road, the car drives like a standard electric car, at a speed limit of 40 to 60 km/h. - In the air, it transforms into a biplane, orienting the cockpit forward for ease. - Eight propellers allow movement in any direction, with a cruise speed of 180 km/h. 👉🏻 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝗳𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗿? “Siemens' immersive technology is revolutionizing how we develop our next-generation aircraft. It's not just about seeing the design; it's about experiencing it in a way that enhances our engineering decisions and accelerates innovation,” -Aleksey Matyushev, Cofounder and CEO, Natilus. One of the ways Natilus is different than other aircraft companies can be found in the way we design and engineer aircraft. Our mantra of doing more with less and constantly striving to find more efficient paths forward is part of our core DNA as a company. Today our good friends at Siemens announced our collaboration to integrate Siemens Xcelerator portfolio of industry software into our design and engineering workflow. 🤖 West Japan Railways (West JR), one of six companies that make up Japan Railways Group, has unveiled a giant “humanoid robot” to work on heavy machinery on its lines. The as yet unnamed tool is described as “multifunctional railway heavy machinery for railway equipment maintenance” and is based off a prototype used by West JR to prove the concept of the odd-looking machine. The new robot has been developed in partnership with Jinki Ittai Co, a robotics technology developer, and Nippon Signal Co, an IT and electricals in infrastructure firm. West JR said the project was needed due to “a labour shortage in infrastructure maintenance work, not just for railways”. The new “heavy equipment” is carried by a railway construction vehicle, which hosts the control room, with the robot on an extendable boom. #zorail #railway #maintenance #innovation #management #digitalmarketing #technology #creativity #futurism #startups #marketing #socialmedia #socialnetworking #motivation #personaldevelopment #jobinterviews #sustainability #personalbranding #education #productivity #travel #sales #socialentrepreneurship #fundraising #law #strategy #culture #fashion #business #networking #hiring #health #inspiration
