#60years of #highspeed #trains in #Japan ! #Congratulations! Today, 60 years ago, some days before 1964 #OlympicGames, the fastest passenger train service ever seen, began service between #Tokyo and #Osaka at the incredible top speed of #210kmperhour So #fast, so very fast, they were described (even now they are described that way in some places) as #bullet #trains The narrow gauge Japanese rail network had shown its limitations, so Japan decided some years before to #create a complete #brandnew rail #concept #operation for #passengers: #Rail #High #Speed had been born ! Thanks so much for creating a #new and #sustainable #rail #way for the #world! ありがとうございました/ Japan - The Government of Japan #ThanksJapan for #BulletTrains UIC - International union of railways #UICrail Renfe ADIF Fundación Ferrocarriles Españoles Asociación Española del Transporte In my opinion, maybe the Spanish High Speed Rail System is the closest to Japanese HSRS experience. The first Spanish High Speed Line, Madrid-Seville was also built to overcome the Despeñaperros conventional line bottleneck between both cities. The final decision on Spanish HSL, chosing UIC - International union of railways #UICrail #gauge (the same of Japanese HSL) defined a separate high speed network from 1668 mm. gauge "conventional" one (as it happened before in Japan in 1964, with 1067 mm. gauge), what made it very different from French, German and Italian HSRS examples. 60 years after, take a look on Rail High Speed Lines around the world! https://lnkd.in/dB26mT5a

🪽 A Milestone in Joby’s Journey: Joby’s First Flight Outside the US 🗾 Speech from JoeBen Bevirt, Founder and CEO of Joby (shortened version.) On 4th Nov. marks a significant milestone in our journey as Joby successfully conducted its first flight outside the United States. Developing electric air taxi to carry a pilot and four passengers, offering high-speed mobility (upto approx. 320 km per hour) with zero operating emissions and a fraction of noise, has been a lifelong dream of mine. Growing up in the redwood forests of Santa Cruz, California, I walked several kilometers to school every day. During those long walks, I envisioned new modes of transportation that could move swiftly and silently through the air while preserving the beautiful environment we live in. My relationship with Toyota goes back further than you might think. In 1991, I bought my first car, a blue Toyota truck, because of its reputation for reliability. I cherished that truck for many years, and it became a beloved companion for the small team of engineers who gathered to establish Joby. Today, Joby has grown to over 2,000 employees, but that truck still runs around our premises, nearing 200,000 miles. Mr. Toyoda shared his grandfather’s passion for the skies and his vision of becoming the world’s most trusted mobility service provider. Since then, we have walked this path together, striving to realize that vision. Toyota has invested in Joby multiple times, but more importantly, they have supported us in production. They have assisted in tool design, advised on factory layouts, and supplied parts for our aircraft. They are the ideal supporters for us. Leveraging Toyota’s experience and knowledge has been incredibly fortunate, and words cannot express how crucial they have been to our success. Joby’s ambitions are not small. We aim to change the world and revolutionize how people live and travel, much like Toyota has done over the past 87 years. We look forward to a future where air travel is commonplace and has a smaller environmental footprint. We envision a world where we can avoid urban congestion and connect regions without highways, allowing us to spend more time with the people and places we care about. https://lnkd.in/gFM9fQA9

More collaborations emerging between China's industrial behemoths and its space sector 🚀 🚗 This time, we have BYD sub-brand Fangchengbao (方程豹) announcing a collaboration with China Rocket with much fanfare. Established in mid-2023, Fangchengbao is a high-end brand under BYD, with its cars portrayed as rugged, offroad vehicles. The collaboration is vague, but likely involves Fangchengbao shuttling Chinese taikonauts around the launch site prior to launch, reminiscent of the way that Teslas are used for Dragon launches. #ChinaSpaceGuy https://lnkd.in/gxEyxMzd

🎉 77 Years of Tradition and Innovation at TAM-Europe 🚚 🚛 🚜 🚐 🚌 As we mark TAM's 77th anniversary, we're excited to reminisce and share the remarkable milestones from our factory's rich history. In 1947, the journey of progress began with the signing of the founding charter, marking the start of vehicle production at TAM. But our story doesn't begin there; even before our modern-day TAM-Europe factory stood, on this location in Maribor was built a German factory producing aircraft parts. Facing adversity from Allied aircraft to damage facilities, the production continued in underground tunnels in 1943. Fast forward to May 1945, a pivotal moment arrived with a proposal to establish a dedicated vehicle production factory. This vision culminated in the official decision on December 31st, 1946, to establish the Maribor Tezno Automobile Factory. The excitement peaked on August 10 when we proudly assembled our very first vehicle—a 3-ton capacity #truck featuring a water-cooled gasoline engine licensed under PRAGA. So 1947 marked the first production of vehicles- production of the iconic Pionir trucks (PRAGA), with 27 vehicles rolling off our assembly lines. This was just the beginning of a remarkable journey that saw a staggering 17,416 #Pionir vehicles produced by 1963. Furthermore, on February 17, 1948, our logo was confirmed, featuring three circles and a five-pointed star designed by engineer Jaroslav Černigoj. In 1948, we proudly produced the first motorcycle in TAM, equipped with a 350cc engine producing 18 horsepower, marking a significant milestone in Yugoslavia's automotive industry. Additionally, in 1951, we unveiled the prototype of the #LUKA bus with a trambus cabin, followed by intensive preparations for its serial production in 1952. As we reflect on these milestones, we're filled with #gratitude for the #visionaries, #pioneers, and dedicated team members who have shaped TAM's #legacy over the past 77 years. Today, as we celebrate our rich history, we remain committed to pushing boundaries, driving #innovation, and shaping the future of automotive excellence. Here's to #77years of progress, passion, and pioneering spirit at #TAM! MOVING TOGETHER. hashtag #TAM #Automotive #Innovation #Legacy #Tradition #Pionir #Truck #Maribor
