Taking the Stage at JETRO & GTAI Event Frederick Walker & Takahiro Yokoyama from our Global Venture Lab had the pleasure of delivering a keynote at this year's JETRO & GTAI Open Innovation Event 2024, honoring the 160th anniversary of the Japanese-German Friendship. Our talk focused on the power of building ventures with intercultural teams, spanning Japan, the US, and Germany. Here’s why working cross-culturally is our superpower: 1️⃣Global Perspectives: Working across cultures challenges all of us to see beyond our usual perspective and really embrace innovation beyond our comfort zone. 2️⃣Collaborative Synergy: Bringing together expert knowledge from tech and manufacturing to entrepreneurship and startups strikes the ideal balance for great products. 3️⃣Creative Problem-Solving: A mix of cultures brings a wealth of ideas, pushing boundaries in venture creation. It was humbling to share the same stage with great examples of German & Japanese innovation, including Mr. Kunihiko Kawazu, Minister & Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Japan in Germany. The event showcased numerous exemplary German-Japanese collaborations, emphasizing the strength of international friendships, especially in today's environment. As the Venture Lab Niterra Group, we strive to continue being a leading example of successful Japanese-German collaboration. Here's to more innovative ventures and strong international relationships! #TeamVentureLab #BeyondCeramics

🌟 Inspiring Success Story! 🌟 Discover Lusiana’s journey from co-founding HashMicro to leading a thriving team of 500+ across Asia. Her vision for tailored ERP solutions transformed an industry and exemplifies the power of taking bold risks. 🚀 Connect with Lusiana to learn more about her remarkable path! 👋 #HashMicro #Inspiringstory #ERP
Sometimes, you have to take a risk to pursue what you truly believe in. Almost ten years ago, I co-founded a company called HashMicro in Singapore during my university years. At that time my co-founder & I noticed that the ERP systems local companies subscribed to were designed for the West and didn't address the needs of Asian company culture. Starting a company at a young age wasn't particularly challenging. I've always loved problem-solving and have been dabbling in entrepreneurship since 13. By that time, I had some understanding of what it takes to run a business. Thankfully, my co-founder and I both had faith in the idea and wanted to see how far HashMicro could go. It was a leap I dared take thanks to the privilege of youth. If things didn't work out, I still would have the time to start over. I strongly believe that our 20s is the time to work hard and take risks that build toward our 30s. Fast forward to today, we are running strong with 500+ amazing team members in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. It’s yet another big milestone that we have accomplished. We've also come a full circle with HashMicro now being taught in university classrooms 🥰 I'm glad I listened to my intuition almost 10 years ago, and I'm looking forward to spending more time on future-building with the HashMicro team! P/S: Been silent on LinkedIn for a while 👀, feel free to drop a hi. Hoping to connect with more people here! #HashMicro

A few months ago, I found myself in Japan, navigating a new culture and preparing to bring Yayem's vision to life in Asia. Fast forward to now, and we’ve just wrapped up The Osaka Weekend XP—an event that brought together 20 founders, investors, and nomads from across the world, right here in Osaka. This wasn’t just another business event—it was a deep dive into the future of work, community, and culture. With the support of FUTRWORKS and Hankyu Corporation, we positioned Osaka as a rising hub for digital nomads and entrepreneurs. From inspiring talks to local experiences, this weekend embodied what Yayem is about: bringing extraordinary people together in meaningful ways. The balance between local immersion and networking made it special. We didn’t just talk business—we explored markets, took part in tea ceremonies, and enjoyed Osaka’s hidden gems. On a personal note, this experience has been a milestone for me. Organizing a major event in Japan came with challenges—from learning cultural nuances to navigating a different business environment. At times, I felt like a toddler learning to walk. But with the support of my colleagues and the trust of Lindsey Elkin, I embraced it. The challenges—language barriers, local customs, time zones—only pushed me to grow stronger. From managing logistics to being an MC, I wore many hats and watching it come together was so fulfilling. Doing this in Japan, a country I’ve come to love, made it even more meaningful. Thank you to FUTRWORKS, Chikako Tsuda, her team, the speakers, participants, and, of course, Lindsey for believing in me. This is just the beginning. As Yayem grows, we’ll expand across Asia, deepen our roots in Japan, and create more incredible experiences for our global community. #DigitalNomads #Osaka #GlobalCommunity #EventManagement #CulturalExchange #Yayem #RemoteWorkRevolution #ProfessionalGrowth #Leadership
