💄🌿The bioeconomy: an asset for the cosmetics industry in Normandy Normandy, a region renowned for its rich biodiversity and pioneering spirit, is positioning itself as a key player in the bioeconomy, particularly within the cosmetics sector. Around 20 companies are specialized in manufacture of cosmetic raw materials. Leveraging its abundant natural resources—such as flax—and the expertise of many local stakeholders, Normandy is the place to develop more sustainable and innovative future in cosmetics. For example, the Normandy regional council recently provided €41,741 for the cosmetics cluster. 🌿 R&D and Innovation: Research centers and laboratories are working hand-in-hand to offer their expertise to your companies: @CarnotI2C (Research & training area / DB17 stand): A research institute specializing in chemical and materials science, with a strong focus on sustainable innovation and collaborative projects. BIOGALENYS (Gabriel room / GD60 stand): A biotech company dedicated to developing innovative galenic formulations, providing solutions for cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Cosmetomics@URN (Research & training area / DC16 stand): A research group affiliated with the University of Rouen Normandy, focusing on cosmetic formulations and bioactive ingredients. Our 𝟐 start-ups Made in Normandy nominated for the COSMETIC 360 Awards 2024 in the Manufacturing Process category: Alga Biologics (Soufflot Room / SD11 stand): Start-up Deeptech bioproducing recombinant proteins and antibodies with microalgae in a sustainaible maner ARBORETUM INGREDIENTS (Soufflot Room / SC10 stand): They locally source in Normandy high-quality natural ingredients from trees and organic crops to smartly process their transformation for selected partners in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food industries. 🔬 Testing Services: An essential phase in the cosmetic product development process is testing. Normandy is one of the few regions that offers this expertise: ACTALIA SENSORIEL (Gabriel room / GC67 stand): A laboratory offering sensory analysis services, helping companies evaluate their products' sensory characteristics through consumer testing.
