INSIGHT: Edgio is seeking chapter 11 protection We had seen things coming with restructuring of Edgio's debt few months back. We also saw other CDN companies shut down: Lumen was the largest one, but also Stackpath. The traditional CDN model is coming to an end, we see Akamai, Fastly moving to security and Edge Cloud, CloudFront working more closely with AWS, CDN77 seeking lower size deal at higher margin. As traffic increases and suppliers decrease, we can expect more aggregation and possibly increase in prices. Alternative solution, such as ISP based CDN are now taking shape, ramping up steadily.
