Took the kids to Vegas for a few days this week... we hit up a pop up restaurant called "retro" which has an 80's and 90's theme. Food as well. One of the things about neurodiverse kids is they can be both funny and opinionated. We had a blast in Vegas. My son with autism was like "no way" as he saw VHS tapes and retro stuff as we were walking in. He told me these obsolete technologies were offensive to him and his more modern taste. Not a joke, its what he told me (and the hostess). People ask me about early intervention. He couldn't talk when he was 2 so I will take a sarcastic pre-teen any day. He was in full on panic like where cells phones even allowed in this place? So we agreed he could do whatever he wanted during dinner, but no technology from after 1990. So he and little bro hunted through the artifacts at the restaurant and found handheld Pacman and Galaga and played the whole time. Touche I guess. #kids #retro #autism #entrepreneur
What a fun experience, Amol Deshpande. Exploring experiences with your children. I suspect it inspires you as well.
man, this makes me really miss 90's arcade games. I am definitely checking this place out next time I am out that way.
Thanks for sharing Amol. Suggestion if you like it, a good way to blend the past with present is to build a home-made gaming system with all the old school gaming platforms (raspberry pi, 3D printer, old school controllers). Easy to setup and helps impart an appreciation on what came before.
That is super cool! I remember telling my daughter about how I used to use cassette tapes as a child and how I would always needed a trusted pencil just in case ✏️. I love how you are so hands on with your kids and are creating amazing moments with them! Also now will need to check out this “retro” 80s/90s restaurant, as a 90s kid. 💾☎️📹
Love the teenage sarcasm! Looks like a wonderful time!
Love this. ❤️
Thanks for sharing. We had one of those Pac-Man games.
Have a great time
They need a NYC location!

9moAll children can be funny and opinionated. It's less about neurotype and more about being in an environment in which their personality is allowed to emerge. :)
