How Private Equity Backing is Helping One Australian Firm Grow

Law Partners-You need to provide the oversight to avoid clients getting swamped with memos and work product well beyond the needs of the client. I was consulted yesterday by two board members of a company with which I have no prior relationship ( indeed even knowledge of). They are undertaking the biggest expansion in company history and exhausted by lengthy memos from juniors and specialists that conclude that there is nothing needed in a specific area or under a statutory provision. Their bigger frustration is issues lists with no recommended approach other than a conference call or meeting to discuss before making a recommendation. They have been working with a large Toronto firm. They have decided to change firms midstream. I did a quick review of the file. I completely understand their frustration. Their question-is there a firm that sends a one paragraph response when there is no issue? Is there a firm that sends an issue list in order of priority with a recommended reasonable solution to each issue? This is not a rocket science issue. Does any firm have a consistent approach to these threshold issue identification and resolution processes?
