Today and every day, we honor our military personnel, past and present, and the families who support them. We thank you for your service. Innovive Health is committed to serving individuals with complex behavioral health conditions, including our country’s Veterans. An estimated 41% of Veterans are in need of mental health care programs every year. Mental health issues can affect every aspect of a Veteran’s life. In a 2022 study, 38% of Veterans had a code on their medical record for a common mental health disorder. This number does not include undiagnosed mental health conditions, which means the actual number is likely much higher (source: https://lnkd.in/g-VXj_j8). If you are a Veteran and are in need of support for mental health, contact your healthcare provider or the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This painting, “Brothers in Arms,” depicts a U.S. Army veteran and the man who served as his translator in Afghanistan and saved his life. Fortunately, this soldier was able to bring the translator and his family to the United States to carry on their lives in safety. However, many veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan never received that sense of closure—they left with feelings of loose ends and the guilt of not being able to help. Additionally, more than 1.8 million returned home with a permanent disability, with close to 1 million of those linked to mental health and traumatic brain injuries. In my experience of having met so many veterans, I see they all have paid a heavy price in terms of mental stress, which is why it’s so important that they get the care they need and have access to adequate mental health resources. It is our responsibility as a nation to support our service members with PTS as they reintegrate back into civilian life and move forward with the help of loved ones, comrades, and mental health professionals. Below are some resources to help with PTS: Call the Vet Center's national number at 1-800-905-4675 or visit online for more information. Veteran Crisis Line: If you are in crisis, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or dial 988 then press 1, or text 838255. You can also chat with a counselor on the Veteran Crisis website. #SteveAlpert #mentalhealth #PTS #military #veterans

Mental Health First Aid is a valuable resource that can make a difference in the lives of the more than 22 million veterans, their families, and the communities they live in. Family members and personnel working with military and families are often not aware of how to engage veterans with mental illnesses and addictions. In addition to the impact of military service on the veteran, each has a circle of family (significant other, children, parents, siblings, etc.) and friends who are also impacted by their military service. Why Mental Health First Aid for Veterans, service members, and their families? While military service often fosters resilience in individuals and families, some service members may experience mental health or substance use challenges. Thirty percent of active duty and reserve military personnel deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan have a mental health condition requiring treatment – approximately 730,000 men and women, with many experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder and major depression. Sadly, less than 50 percent of returning veterans in need receive any mental health treatment. The Veterans Administration reports that approximately 20 veterans die by suicide every day. 💙 Honoring Our Military: Mental Health Tips & Appreciation 💙🎖️ As we commemorate National Military Appreciation Month this May, we extend our deepest gratitude to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. In addition to honoring their sacrifices, it's essential to recognize the unique mental health challenges faced by military personnel and veterans. Here are some mental health tips and ways to show appreciation for our military community: Take the time to express appreciation and gratitude to members of the military community for their service and sacrifice. Simple gestures such as writing thank-you notes, sending care packages to deployed troops, or volunteering with organizations that support veterans can make a meaningful difference. By showing our gratitude, we acknowledge the tremendous contributions of our military personnel and honor their commitment to protecting our freedoms. Additionally, we can advocate for policies and programs that prioritize mental health support for military personnel and veterans. Support initiatives that increase access to mental health resources, reduce stigma surrounding mental illness, and improve the quality of mental health care within the military and veteran healthcare systems. By advocating for change, we can help ensure that members of the military community receive the support and care they deserve. This National Military Appreciation Month, let's come together to honor and support our military personnel and veterans. By raising awareness of mental health challenges and providing resources and support, we can help improve the well-being of those who have sacrificed so much for our country. Thank you to all members of the military community for your service and dedication. 💙🎖️ #MilitaryAppreciationMonth #SupportOurTroops #MentalHealthMatters #ModernMePsychology

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a serious global issue affecting many people, especially military personnel and veterans. The "Rapid Recovery of Heroes" program by Ediens & Partners aims to restore mental health through the normalization of a healthy gut microbiome. This initiative is designed for military defenders, veterans, internally displaced persons, and all those affected by war. We use the principles of personalized medicine, considering the patients' microbiome profile, and select biopreparations for the effective treatment and prevention of PTSD. Our goal is to help 1,000 people in 2024 by providing them with the necessary support and medical care. We strive to overcome multiple resistance and ensure early diagnosis and treatment of PTSD. Together, we can create a future where everyone affected by war can find a path to recovery and peace. #PTSD #MentalHealth #RapidRecoveryOfHeroes #Ediens #Veterans #Military #HealthyMicrobiome #PersonalizedMedicine #SupportingWarriors #Rehabilitation #MedicalCare #PreventingPTSD

🇨🇦 Reflecting on Remembrance Day and Supporting Our Veterans 🇨🇦 I chose not to post last week in respect for Remembrance Day. As a military brat, I wanted to make sure we kept the focus on honoring the sacrifices of our veterans and active service members. With Remembrance Day still fresh in our minds, it's crucial to recognize the unique mental health challenges service members face. Veterans and active military personnel are 1.5 times more likely to attempt or commit suicide compared to non-military individuals. This is why supporting causes like Movember is so essential. Mental health and suicide prevention are core pillars of the Movember Foundation’s mission, and initiatives like these can truly make a difference. While thanking military members is important, actively supporting mental health resources and suicide prevention programs goes a step further in giving back. If you, or someone you know, is in crisis, please reach out: 1-833-456-4566 to connect with a crisis responder. Let’s support our veterans, active military, families, friends, and ourselves by prioritizing mental health year-round. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dDx33AP5 #RemembranceDay #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention #Movember #SupportOurVeterans
