✨ Exciting news from the #BPM conference! ✨ Last week, I had the privilege of presenting my latest research titled "Improving Process Discovery Using Translucent Activity Relationships", co-authored by Wil van der Aalst. This work delves into an innovative approach within the realm of task mining and process discovery. Check the work out here: https://lnkd.in/eVnnU6zD In our work, we focus on translucent event logs that include not only executed activities but also enabled activities—those activities that could have been executed besides the ones that actually occurred. While translucent logs were not introduced in this work, we explored new ways of using them to improve process discovery. By embedding translucent activity relationships into the Inductive Miner algorithm, we discovered more accurate process models using fewer recordings. The introduced relationships can be used in multiple discovery algorithms. This is highly interesting when considering #generalization since we never see the whole system from which we get the data. I’m also excited to incorporate the feedback I received into an extended journal article for #ProcessScience. Thanks for the exciting talks, presentations, and the #BPM2024 team for organizing this amazing conference.

Recent surface discoveries and historical mine sampling have yielded high-grade gold assays, including 27.1 gpt at Finnsbo and up to 12.1 gpt at Norrby https://lnkd.in/eDG6tGAu

The Vega Zone delivers yet again. High-grade mineralization was found in the last batch of 2024 winter program assays from CV13. Some of the highlights: 51.7 m at 1.77% Li2O, including 9.7 m at 5.16% Li2O (CV24-525). 35.3 m at 2.40% Li2O, including 17.4 m at 3.12% Li2O (CV24-520). 34.8 m at 1.87% Li2O, including 19.1 m at 3.17% Li2O (CV24-524). 41.5 m at 2.00% Li2O, including 10.6 m at 3.50% Li2O (CV24-510). 🎉Congratulations 🎉 to Dr. Pilot Mugebe, PhD, MMEng, MBA, BSc (Min.Eng) on successfully completing his #PhD by a thesis titled: 💠Impact of Mining Technological Innovations on Iron Ore Share Prices💠 Dr Mugebe’s research investigates the impact of #technologicalinnovation on #shareprice 📈. The research traced the history of #mining technological innovation development from the introduction of mechanisation in the 18thC. This is investigated chronologically through the period of automation and remote-control systems, up to the present age of semi-autonomous and autonomous systems. It is discovered that work on the technological innovation impact on stock price, defined by an empirical relationship is absent. The literature review conducted shows that mining technological innovation impact is explored only to as far as improving productivity, reducing costs, and improving safety. This confirms the existence of a gap that needs to be filled by further research. The aim of this research, therefore, is to develop a share price #predictivemodel derived from an empirical relationship based on the impact of mining technological innovation on share price. Overall, the research proves that the technologically driven factors are quantifiable and play a vital role in building a share price prediction model. Some methodological limitations have been identified, setting the scope for further work to address the accuracy shortfalls in the results. 📰 New Research in Mineral Exploration! 🌍 I'm thrilled to announce the publication of my latest paper, "Adopting a cell-based method to identify mineralized geological structures in support of mineral prospectivity mapping at the Kuh‒Lakht epithermal gold deposit, Central Iran." 💡 If you are interested in learning how to objectively weight geological features and incorporate them into mineral prospectivity mapping (MPM) workflows, I invite you to read my recent paper. 🔍 In this contribution, we propose a cell-based technique in MPM to efficiently address the exploration bias in decision-making processes by assigning relevant weights to the key geological features facilitating gold mineralization. The findings provide valuable geological insights, enabling us to objectively assess the importance of various geological features in gold mineralization. Thus, the proposed technique can address the uncertainties arising from subjectively incorporating geological features in the MPM workflow and those arising from insufficient input data in MPM studies. 🔍 The allegiance of knowledge-driven and/or supervised MPM workflows to training locations may impose uncertainties on the final predictive map. The natural potential difference in the ground is measured by a voltmeter. #Interpretation_and_Applications: self-potential method is traditionally used in mineral exploration tool for massive sulfide orebodies.

Dr. Steve Jason Chingwaru, a #PhD #graduate from Faculty of Science Stellenbosch University, has discovered that a significant amount of "invisible" #gold remains inaccessible to traditional recovery methods in the #mine dumps of the #Witwatersrand region. His #research indicates that approximately 420 tons of this "#invisiblegold" are buried within these #minedumps. This groundbreaking discovery originated from Dr. Chingwaru's #MSc #thesis, which was so impressive that it earned him an upgrade to a #doctorate.
