Mastering the Red Dirt ⚡ This year’s Rampage was one for the history books. Though Hannah Bergemann couldn't join the strong women's field due to injury, Talus Turk and Bienvenido Aguado competed in a heavy-packed male roster. Talus aimed for a solid top-to-bottom run in round 1, landing a series of clean moves. After waiting 5 hours due to high winds, he couldn’t complete a second run. Talus reflected, "I'm stoked about this run. Our hard work on the course paid off. It's been an incredible experience." Our design team collaborated with Transition Bikes to create Talus' Red Bull Rampage kit, inspired by his father Carter Turk’s legendary snowboarding career in the '80s. Bold colors and clean lines pay tribute to both his dad’s legacy and Talus' modern MTB style. After a hard crash in training, Bienve Aguado got medical clearance for the finals. He opened it strong with impressive freeride sections and nailed a backflip off a massive drop in his first run. After sliding out following that big sender, he decided to sit out the second run to avoid further risk. His resilience earned him the "Toughness Award." Given Rampage's intense terrain, Bienve takes protection seriously, relying on our K-Pact Select, Vest Amp, and ION helmet for his safety.

Let’s put on our thinking caps to discuss head protection! Now, when it comes to safeguarding that marvelous brain of yours, we're talking about helmets! Helmets are like the superheroes of headgear. They come in all shapes and sizes, designed specifically for different activities, whether you're biking, skateboarding, skiing, or even construction work. The key to a good helmet is its construction. Most helmets have an outer shell made of hard plastic or fiberglass, which is there to take the initial impact and spread it out over a larger area, kind of like a force field for your noggin. The 10 best foiling dinghies: fun ways to get flying for all abilities https://ift.tt/R7StqDM Toby Hodges takes a look at the latest developments in foiling dinghies and picks his top ten options for all abilities to get flying on the water Foiling used to be the preserve of a select few elite-level athletes, but a couple of decades of work by enthusiasts determined to broaden participation has resulted in a slew of designs that any competent dinghy sailor can enjoy. Inevitably some have fallen by the wayside, but others continue to go from strength to strength. Technology, materials and knowledge have all improved substantially while competition is bringing prices down. Here are some of the best options out there for a summer of high adrenaline and high speed flying fun… The 10 best foiling dinghies Photo: Tamborini Alessio Waszp Skill level: 5-10 To date most foiling dinghies have sold in only relatively small numbers, despite the enthusiasm of many in the industry. Yet the one-design Waszp bucks that trend in a big way, with some 3,500 built over the past eight years, even though it was not conceived to make foiling as easy as possible. It’s based on the International Moth, and even meets the admittedly few class rules, even if not competitive against the latest designs. However, that doesn’t matter to Waszp sailors thanks to 100-plus strong entry lists for the class’s own major championships (a new record is expected to be set at the 2025 event in Weymouth, UK). Created by Andrew McDougall, who designed the extremely successful Bladerider and Mach 2 Moths, the Waszp has an emphasis on simplicity, providing it doesn’t unduly sacrifice speed. The hull shape has a little more form stability than the latest Moths, while the folding wings can be set horizontally to act as stabilisers when learning. They can then be raised progressively as you become more confident and proficient. The wishbone boom eliminates the risk of being hit on the head and makes crossing the boat easier, while control systems are easy to use, understand and maintain. Construction is of cored fibreglass and epoxy, rather than carbon, so the sailing weight of around 50kg is almost double that of the lightest Moths. Take-off speed is around 8 knots and can be achieved in as little as 7-8 knots of true wind. A choice of 5.8, 6.9 and 8.2m2 sails allow the boat to be sailed by people with a wide range of weight, with the small X rig providing a pathway for young sailors. In addition to the close competition, the class also benefits from a vibrant community that goes well beyond the regatta scene, including training sessions, technical assistance, coaching and equipment recommendations. Waszp specifications LOA: 3.35m Sailing weight: approx 50kg Price: £14,250 Builder/dealer: waszp.com Quant 23 Skill level: 3-7 This Swiss firm has been at the forefront of the foiling revolution for many years, often working in conjunction with British naval architect ...

Experience the Movement: Doubledeck's Let-to-Rent Program ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dy5giEKV Doubledeck Snowboards is a snowboard shop looking to create a new conversation for snowboarders and the whole snow sport community. Their new program called Let-to-rent means never having to buy an expensive board that will ultimately just sit at home most of the year. Customers can rent the board as long as they want, which will be sent directly to your front door or the resort, saving customers' money, storage space, and quite a bit of hassle. After the rental is over, the board gets a second life, whether that's a refurbishing for someone else or recycled into other products, keeping it out of the waste stream. For snowboarders, that means putting less waste on the environment and being responsible. For shops, they don’t have to fill their inventory with boards with their piece of mind and earn a commission, and Doubledeck does the heavy lifting. This program is more than just about snowboarding, it's an opportunity to become a part of a community that is trying to do the right thing for the planet and make educated choices for our friends and family. Together with Doubledeck we can all shred the slopes and do our part for the earth. #SustainableSnowboarding #ShredResponsibly #LetToRent #EcoFriendlyRiding #RideGreen

Did you know that horses have 4 different gaits? Walking Trotting Cantering Galloping After our horse riding session, my wife and I were discussing how easy it was to stay on the saddle during the different gaits. Walking - when the horse is slow and gentle, it's easy to keep steady on the seat. Trotting/Cantering - this is when it gets tough, esp if you're riding a more powerful horse. You'll be bouncing up and down, sometimes even hanging on for dear life! Galloping - surprisingly hanging on gets easier from here. There's less dramatic bounces and the ride can be pretty smooth. It made me think about life in general. Before getting good at anything, there's almost always a dip in performance/motivation (check out 'The Dip' by Seth Godin). The going gets tough during the dip, and if you decide to perserve through, things will get better at the end. Have you experienced any 'dips' of your own? Do share!
