M&Ms anyone? Oh no, not the chocolates 🍫 Dr. Bendall and his team at Stanford recently presented a poster at ASMS 2024 about "MnM" — an innovative bimodal imaging strategy🔬 that combines mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI), high-definition spatial proteomics (MIBI), and H&E staining on the same tissue section. This technique is enabled by Ionpath’s new MIBIslide Blue and, in this study, allowed researchers to obtain data on cellular phenotype and activity (antibody-based MIBI) with post-translational and metabolic information (de novo MALDI) at the single cell level. How can BeatBox contribute to advancing single-cell tissue proteomics studies? In this exciting publication, scientists from the lab of Prof. Matthias Mann at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry describe a method called single-cell Deep Visual Proteomics (scDVP). This technology integrates high-content imaging, laser microdissection, and multiplexed ultra-sensitive mass spectrometry. The authors demonstrate that #scDVP resolves the spatial proteome of hepatocytes, paving the way for single-cell proteomics in complex tissues. We were delighted to see our BeatBox in support of their multiplexed DIA approach! 📚 Learn more: https://ow.ly/jRGH50T6iz0 #proteomics #LCMS #MassSpec #tissueprep #samplepreparation #singlecell #hepatocytes #DataSnippets #PreOmics
