The 2024 International Myopia Conference may have ended, but we are just getting started in sharing more about the eye-opening studies we presented there. We revealed news on the significant slowing of myopia progression in a Chinese population after six months of Diffusion Optics Technology (DOT) spectacle lens wear* plus new interim data from a U.S. study on the absence of a rebound effect following the cessation of DOT lens wear**. Over the coming weeks, SightGlass Vision will bring you insights from real world analysis gathered from practices in China and Canada, explore the performance of DOT in younger patients, and share further in-depth science around the use of contrast management to control myopia. *Chen et al. I am excited to announce that I presented at the KITE Research Rounds! 🎉 Thanks, Dr. Milos Popovic and Dr. Babak Taati for the invitation. I delved into the innovative world of ultrasound imaging for hybrid exoskeleton and noninvasive neuroprosthetic control, focusing on the following groundbreaking areas: 1. Hybrid Exoskeleton Control: a new ultrasound-based approach to sense muscle's fatigued state during FES for knee assistance 2. Voluntary Effort Prediction: Using ultrasound techniques to predict user intent and effort accurately with a cable-driven ankle exoskeleton. 3. Tremor Suppression: Utilizing ultrasound imaging to effectively suppress wrist tremors with below motor-threshold stimulation #KITEResearchRounds #UltrasoundImaging #ExoskeletonControl #VoluntaryEffortPrediction #TremorSuppression #AssistiveTechnology #Innovation Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you'd like to discuss this topic further.

The first European study on myopia management treatment combining DIMS spectacle lenses and 0.01% low-dose atropine has been published. This new scientific study conducted by Prof. Paolo Nucci and Doctor Andrea Lembo, in collaboration with leading researchers in the field, confirmed the efficacy of 0.01% atropine and MiYOSMART spectacle lenses with D.I.M.S. Technology in slowing down the myopia progression on their own. The slow down effect increases further when they are prescribed in combination. "We are extremely proud to reveal the first European study on the efficacy of MiYOSMART spectacle lenses in combination with 0.01% low dose atropine the Caucasian population: a wonderful teamwork that confirms the efficacy of DIMS spectacle lenses in slowing down the progression of myopia in European children." explains Dr. Andrea Lembo. "STIR, 𝐄𝐏𝐈, 𝐕𝐈𝐁𝐄, 𝐃𝐈𝐗𝐎𝐍, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨 𝐨𝐧... 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭??? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭??" 🙄 I got you! 𝐿𝑒𝑡 𝑚𝑒 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑒 𝑚𝑒𝑎𝑛, 𝑎𝑟𝑒, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑑𝑜!!! 😎 It is 7:30 pm Sunday, and you already know what that means... I am thrilled to share yet another valuable resource with the MRI community! I've put together a carousel about all things STIR, from the physics of the sequence to its applications and some beautiful images of course. This is a basic guide as STIR is a very complex sequence. In this carousel series, I will explore some of the most amazing sequences we have in MRI. I will approach this with a vendor-neutral view and bring you some super cool images as well. MRI sequences and their specific vendor names are something that often puts radiographers in a state of confusion, but that must change. Don't let a pompous name scare you. Let's discover together, what they mean, what they do, and most importantly for us radiographers, how they look like! Join me, on this journey. At the International Myopia Conference today, SightGlass Vision, Inc. shared six-month data reporting from the CATHAY trial—a two-year, randomized, controlled study across five hospitals in China. ‘Control of Myopia Using Diffusion Optics Technology Spectacle Lenses in a Chinese Population: 6-Month Results’ (Chen Z, et al.) evaluated 186 participants after six months of wear, demonstrating that DOT lenses significantly slowed myopia progression as evidenced by minimal change in axial length and cycloplegic refractive error compared to control group*. Find out more about the CATHAY trial from Debbie Laughton BSc(Hons) MCOptom PhD FBCLA, Director of Medical Affairs at SightGlass Vision. *Chen et al. Control of Myopia using Diffusion Optics Technology (DOT) spectacle lenses in a Chinese population: 6-month results. To be presented at International Myopia Conference 2024. #IMC2024 #MyopiaManagement #MyopiaControl
