Have we neglected the persons with disability? It's quite fascinating to discover international bodies have set out policies aimed at ensuring persons with disability and the aging population who require special needs are not left out in national policies. Inclusivity and accessibility must be placed at the top in the hierarchy of innovation. An interesting research conducted by Seidu et al(2021) in a publication titled Level of Inclusiveness of People with Disabilities in Ghanaian Health Policies and Reports: A Scoping Review asserts only 8 out of 15 policies by the policymakers and their collaborating bodies considered PWDs. Building Inclusive Futures: Disability-Inclusive SRHR and GBV Services in South Sudan. Every individual has the right to access Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) services, regardless of ability. Yet, people with disabilities often face barriers such as stigma, inaccessible facilities, and limited awareness. Disability-inclusive SRHR and GBV services ensure: 🟦Accessible healthcare facilities and information. 🟦Training for healthcare providers on inclusive practices. 🟦Respect for the autonomy and dignity of persons with disabilities. 🟦Collaborative efforts to break stigma and create safe spaces for survivors. Together, we can break barriers, challenge discrimination, and promote equal access to these essential services for those living with disabilities. With a global network of over 50 countries, TCI advocates for the rights of persons with psychosocial disabilities to live independently, access justice, and fully participate in society. The conference, dedicated to the late Dr. Bhargavi Davar, explores key themes like “deinstitutionalization intersectional discrimination” and “access to justice”. Conference Objectives: - Build capacity for community inclusion and deinstitutionalization. - Share grassroots practices and resources for inclusion. - Strengthen global partnerships and advocacy strategies. Featuring plenary sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, the event also included a special Community of Practice on Deinstitutionalization meeting to exchange insights and build networks. TCI continues its advocacy, including the #WhatWENeed campaign, fighting for the rights and dignity of persons with psychosocial disabilities worldwide. Inclusive health is essential for economic growth, social cohesion, and resilience against health crises. For this to materialize, collaboration between governments, civil society, and international organizations is key to achieving health equity for all.

In Cabo Verde, our exploration of the third and final focus country in the #AfricanVoicesproject revealed a remarkable landscape of advancements in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). This visit provided us with insights into a landscape that differed significantly not only from Namibia and Niger but also from the broader African continent 🇨🇻🌍 Our experience in Cabo Verde illuminated the impressive strides made in areas such as girls' education, the fight against gender-based violence, and support for LGBTQIA+ communities. The initiatives highlighted the concerted efforts of both the government and civil society organisations in driving meaningful change. As we reflect on our learnings from Cabo Verde, we are filled with hope that these valuable insights can serve as a catalyst for broader impact. We look forward to incorporating these lessons into our ongoing work, fostering collaborations, and extending our support to other African countries striving for progress in SRHR 🫱🏾🫲🏽 #AfricanVoices #SRHR #CaboVerde #LetsTalkSRHR #ReproductiveRightsAfrica 

Girls in Africa face significant challenges in accessing sexual and reproductive health information and services, as well as high rates of sexual violence and exploitation. However, there are efforts underway to empower girls and protect their rights. The EU-Africa Initiative on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights aims to increase access to quality SRHR services, products, and education, particularly for adolescent girls and young women. Programs like "SHE SOARS" in Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia are working to improve out-of-school girls' access to SRHR information and services, address gender inequalities, and empower girls to make decisions about their bodies. Organizations like Belie Health Foundation in Cameroon are also working to empower adolescents, women, and girls to advocate for their reproductive health rights through capacity building, partnerships with local leaders, and community mobilization. By supporting these efforts, educating ourselves, and speaking out against injustice, we can work towards a future where all girls in Africa are free from abuse and have the information and resources to lead healthy and empowered lives. #GirlsRights #SRH #Beliehealthfoundation
