The Asset Administration Shell (AAS) allows the structured collection and management of all digital information of an asset. In this talk, Dr.-Ing. Andreas Schüller (Yncoris) and Björn Höper (LTSoft GmbH) will present the potential of the AAS based on use cases and first piloting activities. In the last years, Platform Industrie 4.0 and the IDTA created a solid basis, that mainly focused on factory automation. Within NAMUR, we examine and promote of the AAS the application in the process industry. In addition, we identify missing pieces and contribute the content of existing information models within process industry back to the standardization procedures. This work and the ongoing activities are presented in this talk and the link to the ManufacturingX/ProcessX activities is illustrated.
