IPPF ESEAOR’s Post

Happening Now: Fertility & Ageing Workshop in Hong Kong! We’re tackling some of today’s biggest shifts reshaping our societies—declining fertility rates and ageing populations. These trends bring challenges like shrinking workforces, rising healthcare costs, and evolving economic demands in our region. Together with the The Family Planning Association of Hong Kong (FPAHK), we’re hosting a 3-day workshop from 11-13 November, uniting Member Associations (MAs), partners, and experts to develop sustainable, equitable #SRHR for all ages through a human-rights-based approach. In her opening remarks, #IPPF ESEAOR Regional Director Tomoko Fukuda highlighted, “The world is changing drastically, and in line with our new #Strategy2028, understanding the needs of ageing populations and shifting demographics is essential. We are discussing solutions and reshaping how we can lead with knowledge, inclusivity, and meaningful impact in this evolving landscape.” We’re Focusing On: ✅ Identifying factors behind low fertility and ageing #SRHR needs ✅ Strengthening support for all through multi-stakeholder partnerships ✅ Discovering innovative ways to provide tailored fertility and ageing care Through discussions on key topics, including global and regional trends, ageing society challenges, sub-fertility care, and addressing gaps in low-fertility support, we’re shaping a more inclusive and resilient future for all! #SRHR4All #FertilityAndAgeing #InclusiveFuture #HealthEquity #EmpoweringGenerations
