🚑 Just completed my EMT academy training and realized how crucial it is for EMTs to stay up-to-date with numerous protocols. This inspired me to create EMS Pal, a generative AI chat assistant designed to answer protocol-related questions. I was asked TWICE: if we now have o1, why do we need an auto-prompt optimization library like AdalFlow? Yes, they claim 4o1 can be 40% more accurate on some tasks even when compared with 4o. These comparisons aren't totally fair. 4o1 consumes significantly more test-time tokens; a fair comparison would be with 4o using chain-of-thought or even a REACT AGENT for multi-step reasoning. Also, even if it is much more accurate in our comparison, many companies still can't afford 4o, let alone 4o1, which is currently approximately three times more expensive overall. Here is what a potential gpt100o100 we would need to stop us from needing a library like AdalFlow: - Performs with 100% accuracy on all tasks out of the box - Negligible latency - Negligible cost The hardware and modeling would need to take a huge leap. These requirements would need to be at least at the AGI level. Why? - Prompt optimization is post-model training and pre-production. Even if you're deploying a fine-tuned model, before you put that model into production, you can further optimize it. The accuracy gain is almost free. In fields like healthcare and justice, every point of accuracy matters, and it can save lives. - Besides, we will always need a library to build and evaluate different use cases, no matter what model it is.
