🚫 Light...what? 💡 🚀 Did you also find the Hannover Messe a highlight in industrial innovation? Discussions about automation, robotics, Industry 4.0, digitization, artificial intelligence, and more were fascinating! It was great to discover new developments and reconnect with old contacts. However, while future technologies and sustainability were in focus, I noticed one missing topic: Lightweight construction! In Halls 3 & 4, "heavy metal" casting elements dominated, while integrative lightweight construction was hardly present. An empty space in Hall 3 signaled the absence of this important topic. Does it seem like lightweight construction has lost its relevance? However, structural optimisation, functional integration and the substitution of materials do indeed offer new opportunities in many industries. Is this still being discussed in your circles? #HannoverMesse #IndustrialInnovation #LightweightConstruction #Automation #Sustainability

Automation on the Construction Site: Controlled Deconstruction for the #CircularEconomy! 🔄👷 With TARGET-X, RWTH Aachen University has launched a project that advances digitalization and 5G in key sectors such as automotive, manufacturing, energy, and construction. Robotics plays a crucial role in this initiative. More sustainability on the construction site: An innovative automation system aids in the reuse of valuable materials through robot-assisted deconstruction of facilities. Before a KUKA robot begins its work, the deconstruction is digitally pre-planned. This allows for smart, safe, and material-preserving processes that relieve the workforce and protect the environment. You want to learn more about this sustainable innovation in construction? Find the link in the comments. The TARGET-X project is funded by the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) under Horizon Europe (funding number 101096614). #KUKA #automation #HomeOfRobotik #Construction #Sustainability #RWTH #TargetX #ReferenceConstructionSite

IVT Expo - Thursday: 27.06.2024 - 11:50Uhr Autonomus, Cab Design and Evolving digital Interface Enable wheel loader boom durability analysis under real working conditions https://lnkd.in/eVV6piyZ Xiaoting Kou Senior product manager Siemens Digital Industries Software France Dr Michael Hack Business product line manager Siemens Digital Industries Software Germany Digital twins enable simulation of the real lifetime of structures and especially the prediction of when maintenance will be needed. Crucial to success is knowledge of the operational loads and the connection to lifetime simulation. The seamless integration of measured loads, mechanisms, structural analysis, durability study and the new smart virtual sensing technology for operational load estimation brings the digital twin to life. We show how to use this innovative framework for data fusion and predicting the lifetime of the key part in a wheel loader under real working conditions. What the audience will learn Implement predictive maintenance for a wheel loader boom Estimate the operational loads from strain gauge measurements combined with the finite element model Conduct durability analysis based on the operational loads Predict the lifetime of the wheel loader boom under real working conditions Realize the real-time estimation during the operational phase
Construction and agricultural machine companies are committed to climate targets up to 2030 and later. How will autonomous technology help them fulfill these science-based targets?

In a recent case study, a team of our highly skilled engineers set out to discover methods to reduce the need for manual labour and minimise the effects of workforce disruptions in order to strengthen the resilience of manufacturers. The difficulty with this project was that conventional automation systems need a large financial outlay for redesign or modification in order to account for changes or unpredictability in the product. As a result of the ELERA project, we worked with ABB Robotics to construct a hardware platform whose digital twin was driven by the most recent version of NVIDIA's Isaac simulation software. The system features a sizable touchscreen control panel and is completely enclosed. The Unity-designed visual interactive experience is scalable to accommodate the addition of more activities in the future, and it guides viewers through the functionality of the demonstration task. To learn more about the challenges faced, and how we overcome them, read the full case study ELERA: Autonomous Robotic Manufacturing Processes (the-mtc.org) #Automation #Robotics #UKMFG #Futureproofing
