One of the questions I am asked the most.... WHAT MAKES THEM TEMPORARY? - They are classed as temporary because you can literally pick them up and move them to another location as and when you like. - You can add to them and amend them as and when you need. - They don't require deep foundations for them, they are surface mounted structures. But other than this, they are just like any other permanent build! Mar-Key Group #Newbuild #Temporarybuild

𝗖𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 12 tons of steel moving! The bridge designed by Thomas Randall-Page for Cody Dock, a former industrial area along the Lea River, is one of the most original ever. Cody Dock, now home to an artistic community, is being transformed into a creative space. One of the final tasks is the construction of a footbridge that complete the "Leaway" foot and cycle route, connecting Hertfordshire to the Thames. The bridge operates on the principle of equilibrium: it rotates 180 degrees by moving along undulating rails and using a counterweight system. Despite weighing 12 tons, the structure, made of steel and wood, can be operated manually with hand winches. When not in use, it is understated, but its movement makes it spectacular and playful. Isn't it really original? #bridge #structuralengineering #steelstructures #engineering For more: 📌 Follow #ImpressiveEngineering 📌 Click on the 🔔and select “All”
