DRAGADOS UK SELECTS AECOM AS LEAD DESIGNER FOR ELEPHANT & CASTLE STATION AECOM, a US-based infrastructure consulting company, has been chosen by Dragados UK & Ireland as the lead designer for the Elephant & Castle Tube station project in London. AECOM will lead the first stage of the design and construction of new passenger tunnels at the Elephant & Castle station. The infrastructure consulting firm will oversee engineering, tunnelling works related to the new station box, and environmental and stakeholder engagement services. WW+P Architects will handle architectural services, while Dr. Sauer & Partners will provide tunnelling expertise. Both companies have been appointed to the project under AECOM. AECOM’s appointment follows Transport for London’s (TfL) announcement in September last year that Dragados UK & Ireland has secured the design and build contract for Elephant & Castle Tube station. The project is funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA), London Borough of Southwark (LBS) and contributions from local developers.
