Sled Dog Association of Scotland's (SDAS's) first race of the Scottish Championship series was at Brechin on 2nd and 3rd November. It was another well organised event - thank you to the SDAS Committee for all the effort they always put in. #SDASFAM A new trail layout was a real winner with a really nice flowing feel to it. The first race back after the summer break is always a nervous one. Did we do enough? are the dogs ready? will they take all their turns? Just a few questions that fly around my head in the weeks leading up to it. But, all we can do on the day is have fun and stick to our routines. Routines (business systems if you like) are what keep us tied to the plan. Good routines usually give good results relative to the capabilities of the team being worked with. Just so happens that our wee six dog team like what we are doing with them and showed that by running the fastest time of the trail on Saturday and then again on Sunday - putting in the only combined sub 15 minute time of the weekend 😁 😁 We're just happy the dogs enjoyed it. We love being the enabler for them to have fun and prosper. So, on to the next thing. We're fortunate to have been confirmed by SDAS as their 6 dog representative at the WSA World Championships on the 23rd and 24th of November. Myself and three others are representing Scotland in various classes against around 154 other (total) competitors from 10 separate nations with around 80 of these competitors from overseas. Wish us luck! I will post a link to the live timing website that will be used if you want to see how we are doing there and then! I have decided to try and pull together a "goodie bag" of small low cost items made in Scotland by Scottish businesses to hand out to the overseas competitors at least. If there is enough interest we could stretch to the home nations too maybe. We are also looking for things like teardrop drive on flag poles for example.
