Hey NEAT! Our latest collaboration with C Shawn Green's group at Wisconsin is available online. For this, we took a preliminary look into where and how video game genres might be "collapsing" on each other over time, using a machine learning model informed by around ~50,000 discrete user choices. More work to do here for sure, but if you're into gaming, give it a peek? Core finding: if we compare retro (80s-90s) to modern games, we see much more distinction among game genres in the retro set.
