📢 Call for Papers: Technological advancements for resilient and adaptable humanitarian operations 📢 We are pleased to welcome submissions for a special session at the IFAC MIM2025 – 11th IFAC Conference on Manufacturing Modelling, Management and Control (IFAC MIM2025), hosted in Trondheim, Norway! Together with Amin Maghsoudi, through this invited session, we aim to share the latest advances in how different technologies can help improve #humanitarian operations! In particular, we are interested in evidence-based studies that leverage field data to answer their research questions related to the use of #technology in humanitarian operations in different phases (#planning, #implementing / #delivery, #wrapup, and #evaluation). And you only have to submit a 6-page paper (in IFAC format). All accepted papers will be published #openaccess in Elsevier’s IFAC-PapersOnLine. Egypt Partakes in OECD GFTech Technology Briefing    Egypt, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), participated remotely in the Global Forum on Technology (GFTech) Technology Briefing. The event was organized by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on April 3 at OECD headquarters in Paris.    GFTech was held in June 2023 under the theme “Shaping our future at the tech frontier.” It hosted in-depth, inclusive and value-driven discussions to foresee and get ahead of the long-term benefits and risks presented by technology. The Forum identified three technology focus areas and started convening expert focus groups to contribute insights and share good practices for the human-centric governance of these technologies: immersive technologies, synthetic biology, and quantum technologies.    The Technology Briefing, bringing together delegates from the OECD Digital Policy Committee (DPC) and the Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy (CSTP), offered a briefing on the focus group discussions, including insights from the expert and delegate survey responses.    It is worth mentioning that MCIT participated in GFTech 2023, working toward developing common stances and policies and engaging in the dialogue on responsible innovation and governance in an era of rapid technological advancement.  https://rb.gy/chn8mr #Egypt #Technology #Innovation #OECD

Today PhD student Ksenija Peggar and I discussed the problems of transforming the industrial shop floor operations during unplanned production stops and how to use digital solutions, at the #ECIS conference in Cyprus. We have applied #activitytheory and is focusing on operators transformative agency to support changes and learning in the workplace.
