The recent Dolphins Challenge Cancer event is a prime example of this strength, rallying 6,702 individuals to raise an impressive $12 million. This huge effort beat last year's amount and reached the target of $75 million for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center earlier than expected! It's incredible to witness such a phenomenal success. It is a testament to the unstoppable spirit of the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium leadership and each participant who turned adversity into victory together. Their collective resilience has powered a movement that's met one of the most ambitious donation goals in sports history, showing the world what's possible when we unite for a common cause. "One team. One fight." The resilience, unity, and strength displayed are truly inspiring. Stephen D. Nimer, M.D., put it well when he said, "Thanks to the unwavering support from the South Florida community and our amazing partnership with the Miami Dolphins, we've been able to achieve so much at Sylvester, pushing the boundaries of cancer research." I recently attended my very first FIA Conference, and I’m thrilled to share my experience with you all! 🎉 As someone who has primarily been involved in the corporate sector, stepping into the world of NFP has been so refreshing. The FIA Conference was an eye-opening journey that left me inspired and motivated. Here is what I discovered: Collaboration and Networking: The conference was a hub of collaboration. Non-profit professionals came together to share ideas, experiences, and best practices. Impactful Sessions: The conference featured a diverse range of sessions. From fundraising strategies to event ideas, each talk provided practical takeaways. I learned about innovative approaches to address social challenges and enhance the impact of NFP organisations. Purpose-Driven: The heart of the conference was the shared commitment to a purpose and everyone was aligned. Where passion meets purpose to create a positive change. Real Stories: Hearing personal stories from beneficiaries was incredibly moving. These narratives reminded us why we do what we do. Racing for a Cause: Financial Alliance’s CSR During our Monthly Business Conference yesterday, I had the opportunity to present to hundreds of our members on one of Financial Alliance Pte Ltd's key Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives: Our participation in the Race Against Cancer 2024 to support Singapore Cancer Society. After the presentation, an additional 16 people signed up, bringing the total to 60 participants, including staff, team directors and financial consultants. Our donations skyrocketed by 300%, reaching $8.8k! Thank you 🙏! Here are three reasons why we’re participating: 1. Fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibilities 2. Creating Awareness of Cancer Prevention 3. Engaging in Company-wide Activities This CSR initiative is especially important to Financial Alliance because it aligns with our core values of care and support for the community. As a company dedicated to the well-being of individuals and families, we understand the far-reaching impact that cancer can have. Our participation in the Race Against Cancer allows us to contribute meaningfully to a cause that touches many lives, particularly those without adequate access to medical care or support. I personally know the impact that cancer can have on families, and I can only imagine how difficult it is for those who are not well-covered by medical plans or critical illness policies. There are many in our society, especially those from low-income backgrounds, who don’t have the same access to healthcare. This is why it’s so important for us to help.
