We're thrilled to see the strong turnout for yesterday's webinar on “PFAS: The Hidden Threat - Understanding Risks, Remedies, and Regulations" Thank you to our great speakers Emily Tyrwhitt Jones and Marcus Schneider as well as our hosts John Dyson AIIOM and Manuela Grundy Key learnings were: 💡 ECHA’s EU proposed PFAS restrictions will have a profound consequence across all sectors of the economy, well beyond the borders of the EU member states. 💡 US EPA PFAS Reporting duty under TSCA Section 8(a)(7) will require reporting on all PFAS products manufactured between 2011 and 2022 within 18 months, as well as imported articles. 🤔 What does that mean for you? 👉 Start to engage with your supply chain to gather data to ensure compliance. 👉 Identify where PFAS are in your supply chain: your own manufacturing, your purchased items and even during the manufacturing process. 👉 Prioritise your efforts for critical items 👉 If you can, start replacing and phasing out PFAS now, if the technical specification allows. 👉 Conduct supplier due diligence in the process of gathering your data 👉 Engage during the restriction process to influence regulators.
