Results of the national NHS Staff Survey 2023 were released today, and we're pleased to say we've improved in all nine areas that they measure! Over half of our colleagues filled in the survey, and it shows a steadily improving picture - see below for some of the specific achievements in areas like: - The Trust as a great place to work - Colleague wellbeing - Respect, compassion and inclusion LGT Chief Executive Ben Travis said: “It’s always so vital for us to hear from our colleagues, to see where we are doing right by them and where the areas for improvement are in our Trust. Looking at all the improving scores – many of which we have seen rise for two years in a row – I’m really pleased with the progress we’ve made. With the well-known backdrop of the last few years’ challenges in the NHS, those steady improvements are all the more worthwhile. “We know as well that there is lots more that we can do for our colleagues and patients. We’ve recently set out a new, clear set of vision and values to take us forward with respect, compassion and inclusion at the forefront, and as always I have every confidence in our amazing group of colleagues to make LGT an even greater place to work in 2024.” Meera Nair, LGT’s Chief People Officer, said: “Over half of TeamLGT took time out of their busy days to fill in the NHS Staff Survey, so we now feel like we have a real mandate not only for continuing our programmes of work on colleague wellbeing, Freedom to Speak Up and more, but also to change those outstanding issues that still worry our colleagues and impact their work. The hard work of planning to get those scores up even higher next year starts here today.” We know there's always more we can do for our colleagues and patients alike, and checking in with our hard-working teams is a key piece of this puzzle. Thanks to all in #TeamLGT who took the time to fill it in, and who make the Trust such a fantastic workplace.

It’s not every day you get to take a picture with the Sherrif of London and a FTSE 250 CEO. I met Bronek in 2023 whilst daydreaming in a queue at a networking event. I gave him an elevator pitch about my Agency and our work with employers. I asked about his background. It turns out he was the CEO of Hiscox Insurance for 28 years. What are the odds of me speaking to the ex-CEO of a company I just took out business insurance with! He was preparing for the Sherrif of London campaign and unemployment was one of his main priorities. So we exchanged contact details to stay in touch. A few months later, I was invited to an event with employability charities, suppliers & employers. Discussing different workforce challenges and providing viable solutions. Since then, I've been a regular at these sessions, informing employers on how to attract diverse talent by leveraging digital channels. These sessions are super valuable: For charities & suppliers to understand employers core challenges in more depth For employers to explore a variety of solutions available in the marketplace. We are always looking to introduce more employers to these events. If you are in TA, DEI, L&D, Early Careers, Employer Branding (even just an ally/advocate). Keen to find solutions to your workforce challenges. Reach out to Sally Bateson, the brilliant mastermind behind all the logistics of these sessions! PS: You get a cool tour of the Old Bailey too PPS: The Sherrif of London has to be the coolest title ever!

International Womens Day - why is it just a day or a week and not always??? As we reflect on International Women’s Day and the many events surrounding this I think it’s important that we reflect on how far we’ve all come and celebrate. Reflecting on the events we attended - were they the perfect fit? Did they fill your cup, rise you up and make you feel motivated and inspired? To reflect on those who we surround ourselves with ensuring they really connect with us. To ensure those connections are authentic and for mutual benefit. When reflecting not just on the last week or month but on how far we’ve all come. One of the best ways to do this, believe it or not, is to enter an award. By entering awards it helps identify what you’ve achieved and this in turn can be reflected upon to where you’ve started. If you’ve been nominated for an award, congratulations. It’s a hugely humbling and self evaluating moment when you find out that someone has recognised you and believes that you deserve recognition by others. Well done this is an amazing feeling to be acknowledged and whilst imposter syndrome might sneak in it’s a time to reflect and say I am worthy (someone else definitely thinks so!). If you haven’t been nominated, do you self nominate?!- hmmm most would engage in imposter syndrome here in a big way, however why not self nominate and take the opportunity to reflect on your journey and how far you’ve come! It can also benefit your business/organisation and take it to the next level. So let’s really celebrate International Women’s Day everyday and nominate a wonderful woman that you know, including yourself! 💞 https://lnkd.in/gUec-TZg! ✨ #WCWGlobalSummit #WomenChangingTheWorld #Empowerment #womenempoweringwomen

What does "All-in on People" mean? I get asked this frequently when interviewing and potential hires want to know how we back that up. Here's how... ✔ Structured progression pathways for recruiters through to Director level ✔ Promotion isn't based purely on billing alone, you have to demonstrate values alignment and achieve a set of professional growth goals ✔ Values aren't just words on a wall, they're actionable behaviours that get scored every quarter and tied to every promo ✔ Not even 5 years old as a business, and we've delivered a robust family-friendly policy with enhanced maternity and paternity leave ✔ L&D never stops ✔ Hardwork and a great attitude is reciprocated with patience and support. ✔ In our 2024 engagement survey we scored 100% on "managers caring about employees' wellbeing" and "I'm proud to work for Capio" ✔ Bupa Private Healthcare and Financial Coaching through Octopus Money are subsidised benefits ✔ Incentives have included trips Skiiing, Barcelona and Lisbon ✔ Consultants can choose to pledge a donation to either Ecologi | B Corp™ or The MAZI Project for every placement they make ✔ And of course, free breakfast every Friday! And the best thing...we're just getting started. #recruitment #peoplestrategy

With the holiday season just around the corner, many businesses are gearing up for staff celebrations. Before you book that restaurant or organize the perfect event, it’s important to consider whether Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) applies to your festivities. An unexpected FBT liability could spoil the fun if you’re not prepared! Here’s what you need to keep in mind: 🔍 Does FBT Apply to Your Celebration? FBT may apply to benefits considered "entertainment-related." Factors that can determine this include: Amount Spent on Each Employee: The cost per person could influence the FBT calculation. Timing and Location: When and where the celebration is held matters. Guest List: Are partners, clients, or suppliers also invited, or is it just for employees? Gifts Given: The value and type of gifts provided may also attract FBT. 📝 Keep Good Records If your celebration includes entertainment-related fringe benefits, make sure you keep the right records. This will help you calculate any taxable value accurately and stay compliant. 🚨 Avoid Unexpected FBT Liability Understanding how FBT works ahead of time will help you plan the perfect celebration without any surprises. Make the holiday season a time for joy, not FBT headaches. Plan ahead and celebrate responsibly! #FBT #HolidaySeason #StaffCelebration #TaxCompliance #EmployeeBenefits #GirlFridaySydney #TaxPlanning #HolidayParty #BusinessExpenses
