As the #Chair of the #TrendsGroup and also #ChairElect of the #IFTSFSD at Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) - I can't wait to see the breadth and depth of proposals that will be submitted for #IFTFirst2025. Our collective future is shaped by the choices we make as a society—and now, more than ever, we need scientific voices at the forefront. The issues we face, from #publichealth and #climatechange to #technologicaladvancement and #foodsecurity, are complex and require informed, evidence-based solutions. For scientists, this is a pivotal moment. It’s essential to: 🌿 Share Knowledge Widely: We must engage across all domains and communicate our findings with clarity and accessibility. 🌍 Transforming Global Food Systems: A Learning Journey  🌱 I'm thrilled to announce that I've successfully completed the "Transformation of the Global Food System" course from the University of Copenhagen on Coursera platform, achieving an outstanding grade of 96.11%!  The six-week intensive program provided a deep exploration of the critical challenges and innovative solutions in global food systems, aligning closely with sustainable development principles. Valuable Insights Gained: 1️⃣ Critical understanding of how food systems interact with planetary boundaries. 2️⃣ Insights into Kate Raworth's doughnut economics model. 3️⃣ Comprehensive analysis of current global food production challenges. 4️⃣ Explored innovative approaches to sustainable agriculture. 5️⃣ Examined the role of technology in food system transformation. 6️⃣ Analyzed interdisciplinary strategies for addressing global food security. This course has been a transformative learning experience, equipping me with deeper understanding of global food system complexities and strategic insights into sustainable agricultural practices. 🌟 Looking forward to applying these insights and driving positive change in our approach to global food systems !

Excited to Begin My Master’s Thesis Journey in Food and Health! I’m thrilled to share that I’ve started working in the lab as part of my master’s thesis at the University of Padua in the field of Food and Health. My research focuses on exploring the effects of supercritical CO2 on packaged fruits during storage. The study aims to analyze: • Microbiological changes to ensure food safety and quality. • Volatile compounds to better understand their impact on shelf life and sensory attributes. This innovative approach has the potential to revolutionize food preservation techniques, offering safer and longer-lasting solutions for fresh produce. I look forward to deepening my knowledge in food science and contributing to sustainable advancements in the food industry.
